Les Miles. Hands down. Cue the haters, I don't give a shite. The guy has coached the football team to the greatest record ever. EVER. The haters will toss in 1/9 comments but it doesn't take away the fact that he is the winningest coach in LSU football history. The first to get the football team to 13-0. No one else has done that. And we all know how tough the SEC is. The way he incorporates his parenting with his own family and his coaching with the football players into each other and then get results, greatly positive in both areas, is to be admired and envied.
Miles deserves a lot of love from LSU fans.

Skip Berttman - He wasn't handed a silver platter. He built it from scratch, by himself. Shaq - by a hair over Pettit. They both went to class. And graduated. Maravich never attended LSU. Bert Jones - Class guy big LSU supporter. Faneca belongs in there somewhere.

Though I think he opened the door to a lot of things I don't like in Louisiana politics; No one put energy into advancing LSU like Huey Long did in the 1920's and 30's..

Football- Dr. Casanova although Faulk is my favorite.
Basketball- Pistol Pete
Baseball- Big Ben McDonald. People don't remember how dominant he really was.
Greatest Tiger- Shaquille o'neal. He is the one athlete that everyone in the world know went to LSU. I mean LSU has a commercial about him.

Okay, my personal short list is:
Athletes
Tommy Casanova
Pete Maravich
Shaq
Ben McDonald
'Face of the Program'
Mike the Tiger
Billy Cannon
Chollie Mac
Coaches
Dennis Shaver
Skip Bertman
Dale Brown
A note on coaches:
If CLM stays till 2020, with continued winning% he has now I would put him here. If he wins another NC or two, or especially if he oversees program passing UGA and UT in conference championships, I would place him easily over all other coaches. Optimistically looking forward.

Putting Shaver and not Pat Henry is like putting Mainieri and not Skip.
