Saban's record at Alabama (33-8) is better than Miles' record at LSU (51-15).
Saban's overall record as a college head coach (124-50-1) is better than Miles' overall record as a college head coach (79-36).
Miles' record at LSU (51-15) is VERY slightly better than Saban's record at LSU (48-16). Obviously, this is due to the fact that Saban went 26-12 in his first three years while rebuilding a practically dead program, while Miles went 34-6 in his first three years after inheriting a powerhouse waiting to explode. After the first three years, Saban went on to significantly improve his record (22-4 in years 4 & 5), while Miles went on to significantly worsen his (17-9 in years 4 & 5), so much so that they are now almost even in spite of the drastic differences in circumstances they inherited.
