Right, and they had another OC on that team too. They fell to 29th in offense and 25th in scoring from 18 and 11 the year after he left
Offense didn't really play any better until the playoffs, and that has been a flacco theme for years
He averaged the 13th best yards offense in the nfl as an OC and 10th in scoring. Finished in the top 5 in scoring 3x. That is impressive given his youth at the qb Position

ANY offensive coordinator that is in Miles' system is going to fail. LSU has an identity problem that stems from Miles' want to run a power run game while recruiting half of his players for a spread offense and half of them for a pro. Result is that we don't do anything good.
We run spread but don't use the advantage of going no huddle. We go pro set but do it with a QB that is not a drop back passer. We spread it out but only throw it deep with no short passes that get players the ball in space. we have olineman that are built for road grading that can't pass block.
If miles wants to be a pro set team then recruit only drop back passers and do it. If we want to run the spread then recruit more athletic lineman and run it with an uptempo offense. It's almost impossible to do both well. Most of the best offenses know their identity. LSU does not and has not since 2007 (outside of 2013).
That being said I think Cameron is a good OC.

Well he has been fired alot and there is no evidence to point to exactly what he is responsible for.

Link to can Cameron being handcuffed?
No link just common sense...OC's have changed under CLM but the offense has pretty much remained the same.

LSU is not in the NFL, so almost all of that is irrelevant.

It is relevant to what I responded to, so try and keep up
And I'm pretty sure LSU is still playing football. Sucess in the nfl should be harder to obtain...
Last time he coached in college:
quote:
Cameron brought an explosive offense to Indiana with highly effective offensive players such as Antwaan Randle El. Indiana averaged 23.6 points per game under Cameron's guidance. In fact, Randle El became the first player in NCAA Division I history to pass for 40 career touchdowns and score 40 career rushing touchdowns. He finished his college career as fifth on the all-time NCAA total yardage list, and became the first player in college football history to record 2,500 total yards for each of four consecutive years.[4]
Almost 20 years ago, so I would consider that less relevant

I keep hearing how awesome he is with Quarterbacks. All I've seen are Juco 3rd string qb's under his development. Totally unacceptable at LSU's level. I understand about LSU not having an identity. But you would think we would either end up with a running qb or a throwing qb. We get neither. In both our 'starters'. I would be curious to hear what Mettenberger says about Cameron's involvement. He did seem to step up and improve which is very much an oddity at LSU. Still with all we had, Mett didn't stand out that much. We had 2 high impact WR, 1 good pro RB, and potential journeyman pro QB and no telling how many linemen and we still ended up in the outback bowl. Barely won that one too if I remember right. But that was on AJ more than anyone.
He get's minimal to no production out of quarterbacks at LSU. Again, if we aren't running 10yd angle passing drills and quick throws in practice, then everyone should be fired.

Brees was awesome in college...I don't think coaching is what made him so great...it was talent

Mett didn't stand out?
He finished with a QB rating of 171.4, which was 4th best in the country. For comparison, Lucks best season was 170
Hell, he finished 2nd in yards per attempt

Our defense was bad. We averaged 6.4 yards per play. Problem is we gave up 5.1
