Who is Aunt Nee??? I have heard of an Aunt Bee, but Aunt Nee??? Nope, never heard of her...
Is Aunt Nee's cooking as good as Aunt Bee's? What about her house cleaning? Aunt Bee never could figure out how to properly hold a baseball bat- is Aunt Nee the same way???

I just hope we can win a couple of games in Hoover to ensure we get in NCAA tourney..most think it is definite that we are in but let's make sure..I don't think any host wants to see LSU as a roadie in their regional..dream scenario would be to knock off Texas at their house int he Supers..just sayin'

I think Smoke overused pitchers early in the season and it caught up with many late in the season--especially Dirks. Smoke called it "elongating" a pitcher. Dirks was evidently a party animal too, which would not help conditioning.

I remember back in 2005 Dirks didn't pitch for like two and a half weeks at the end of the season from his last start of the regular season to the final game of the regional.
Then he came in near the end of the last game against Rice with a grizzly adams looking beard and looked like he hadn't done anything for the last couple of weeks. I remember jokingly wondering who the hell this guy was.
It's a random story but it's funny looking back on it.

We always heard that Dirks was a hard partier. I'm sure there are many on here that were at LSU at the time and could tell stories.

That is one of the things that I love about LSU baseball. Looking back and thinking about old times. Problem for me is that all the years are beginning to run together!
