Good post. Where we are is a second tier team in the SEC that recruits very well but doesn't develop the players to develop depth. The cream of the crop leaves early and with no development or depth, we are behind the 8 ball to start. People hide behind the record and fail to see the potential not being met. Remember 8-2 is a long way from 10-2. Hope it happens to get a nice bowl but behind the scenes we see players not developing or improving. Our s/c program sucks and with schemes being thrown around, it ain't happening unless we transform the olinemen to match the scheme. This ain't high school. Player development is the biggest problem at LSU. No development, no depth. It starts with Moffitt.

I remember when an 8 to 9 win season would have our fans excited and rallying around our team.
I do too and then we realized that we are in position to be better than that and fired the coach responsible for those results.

In 114 seasons of LSU football, we only won 10+ games in only 14 of those seasons
We only played 10 regular season games a year until the 70s baw.
Played 11 until this century.
Since 2003 we’ve won 10+ regular season games 7 out of 15 seasons, 6 of those by the guy O helped get fired, which he did in 11 seasons.
Maybe O will add to that.
An unranked A&M team is all that stands between him and that accomplishment

are living in a pretty good era of LSU football.
Yes we are.
To stay in this era and not let it fall back to an above avg program, is not to become complacent. Winning programs demand excellence and that's what the so called "whining" is about.
To sit back and enjoy what you have accomplished and ignore issues by saying "we are 8-2, stop complaining", will put this program back to where it was before 2000

Used to only play 11. Now we play 12 or 13

they only played 8 games. 9 sometimes. So 10 = undefeated.

And for most of those 114 years, they didn't even play 11 games in a season, let alone 12. It was much harder to get to 10 wins back then. Less room for error.

Could have been more if Auburn wouldn't have cheated

I think we are LSU. I think that mediocracy is beneath us. I refuse to SETTLE!
We are TIGERS! We are CAPABLE. I never punished my children when they were not capable of making the grade if they didn't. I did, however, demand they do their best. THIS IS NOT OUR OFFENSE'S BEST!! Our D is AMAZING!. Our kicking and punting is excellent. Our return game is pathetic and our offense is pitiful. We are better is some areas but, without a star RB that we have grown used to, our offense, as a whole is down.

I feel like I'm talking to a bunch of kids who's nuts just recently dropped. I want to win every damn game every damn season, but I'm also realistic and can appreciate a damn strong football team that's top 10! I remember when an 8 to 9 win season would have our fans excited and rallying around our team. Now we win games and it's foaming at the mouth because we don't blow them out. We should humble ourselves a bit and take a look back at our overall history and look for reasons to be happy and not so damn negative.
Well it's a damn shame that more people didn't think like this before we went and fired one of the classier coaches in college football.

Of course everyone knows that. They also know that these type runs are limited. That is why with each passing year the fans get anxious to get over the hump again.
It’s noy that I think we are that bad. It is I think we are that close to being great
