And, I am sure it got out of hand. The dumbass lit the toilet paper. Likely thought it would "look cool" in his drunken stupor. Only, the flames took off and blazed more than he expected.

Most likely the case. This has happened in the past and the trees remained undamaged. Hopefully that is what happened this time as well. I am fine with the guy getting charges just to deter it in the future though.
