There seemed to be a slight downward trend while he was here (15 SEC wins, 12, 11, 9), but it's hard to really judge it because of the NCAA cloud hanging over him. Who knows if that would have continued or if this season would have been better than his last.
It's an interesting thought. He basically had 2 seasons where no assistant coaches would come here and the school would not let him hire any hot names even if they would. At the end of his tenure he had two assistants no other big program would have had on staff.

EdO is a POS. He destroyed what others built and only because of his midlife crisis. WW wrote a $5K check out of his personal checking account while he was at VCU. Everything WW did at LSU was to enhance LSU's MBB program. LSU fball is in a different sphere than LSUMBB. SW rightly fired EdO because EdO destroyed the program. SW choosing to fire WW destroyed our MBB program. I give EdO credit for being a good recruiter and for recruiting Joe B to play at LSU.
You could very very easily say WW destroyed LSU MBB because of his irresponsible behavior in recruiting.

You'd also have to acknowledge that to the extent he destroyed anything, it was only what he built. Look at his predecessors.

So just because he helped build it up, it’s ok that he caused it to crumble?

Right? How can you “destroy” something that’s believed by the OP to be mediocre.
I feel like Wade stole this guys girl or something. Seems like he has a personal vendetta against him that isn’t sports related.

Actually, no. I don't agree he destroyed it in the first instance. Second, that's clearly not what it says. Don't be emotional, just read it like a normal person. If he did indeed destroy it (meaning he was the cause), which is at best debatable, there was only something to destroy because he built it.

Not in the slightest. Pulled for him when he was here. Just feel like this place is obsessed with him and can’t move on. I’m pointing that out. Also pointing out that the situations between WW and O are very similar except O accomplished WAYYYYYYYY more than WW did yet everyone shits on him and treats WW as if he was the second coming of Christ.

LSUs men’s basketball existed long before WW got here. And had a history as well. Not perfect but some very stellar moments. It will Exist long after WW has left.

Soooo . . . he didn't destroy it and couldn't if he wanted to? So why, exactly, did you post that he did?

Ole boy kept saying how he built up to this great thing (which it really wasn’t). Just throwing it back at him.

So you start another thread about him? Do you still not see the irony? You can look to the future and not call his stint here “mediocre” knowing it would get a reaction. You stirred the pot, not trying to “move on.”

Are you really comparing potentially paying players(which every school does) to all the things O did in the end? If you believe these two situations are even somewhat similar then you’re beyond reasoning with.

O accomplished WAYYYYYYYY more than WW did
You’re also comparing maybe the greatest CFB season of all time against Wade’s time at LSU?
I would just stop while you’re ahead. The more you comment and post in here you just dig yourself a bigger hole. But hey, if you don’t mind looking foolish keep at it.

Lemme ask you this, do you view O in the same regard?
Completely different scenarios. O earned his firing by letting the program dip to lows not seen since the 90s. Wade never finished lower than 3rd in the SEC.
I get that there are reasons that Wade was fired too but I think the school took the easy way out and tanked our program instead of sticking by our guy and seeing it through.
Would we have gotten more/bigger sanctions had we kept Wade? Maybe. But we sanctioned ourselves to the cellar by firing him and then hiring a guy who seems out of his league at this point. Doesn't matter if we would have been banned from the tournament for a few years cuz we basically banned ourselves.
With that said, if Mcmahon crushes the portal and has us competitive next year, I'll give him his props but until we start winning again, it looks like we killed our basketball program to try to stop the NCAA from killing our basketball program. We committed suicide because we were afraid we might get murdered. Not very smart if you ask me.

LSU isn’t serious about it so I stopped caring.
It's confusing living in a world where this is a viewpoint but there's also the viewpoint that LSU overpaid McMahon and they're stupid for doing so.
Personally, I think the "LSU doesn't care" argument is idiotic.

It 100% is. Obviously LSU/Woodward want LSU Basketball to succeed. Outside of football, college basketball has the most potential to make money for the athletic department.

The idiot who posted this is not a true LSU fan.
In your opinion, Woody.
A true LSU Fan, IMO, is a fan who wants the best for LSU and it's fans.
A political appointee does not always look out for the best interests of LSU, only what is best for him/her self.
Onl history will tell if firing Wade and hiring Mac was in whose best interest.
Was refusing to rehire Saban, in the best interest of LSU?
