Looked at the current depth chart and the only ones that seem to be left are Dural and Leslie: everyone else gone (Beckham, Landry, Boone, Wright).

Is there anyone else I am missing or will it be a Freshman-fest for the third spot? Seems like we should have signed a top flight guy last year.

I wouldn't be surprised to see 2 true freshmen, Trey Quinn and Malachi Dupre, starting by the middle of the season.

we primarly use 2 and 3 WR sets. We will not have 2 true freshman in those sets.

Dural is pretty much locked in IMO.

After him it's a crap shoot between Quinn, Dupre (if he comes) Diarse, Avery, and Spears.

Look for Deseasn Smith to play in the slot some.

Dural and Diarse

We have zero depth. If we can't convince some of these kids to sign with LSU with the little depth we have then something is seriously wrong. Either Dupre (If he signs) will start for the Tigers by mid season or possibly even Quinn. I wasn't as big on Noels as everyone else except for the fact we need more depth.

This is Cams offense and he is going to make the running game work. The running game is so critical for us if we expect to win 8, 9 wins. I know some people have high expectations but we are our own worst enemy with players leaving early. Hell, we are wide open at QB right now.

We are going to really find out what kind of coaches Cam and Miles are next season. It's going to be exiting and nerve racking looking into the barrel of a gun going into the 2014 season. Miles needs to finish up strong recruiting! The next 3 weeks are going to be crazy!!!

No chance. Unless we happen to run a 4-5 WR set on the first play of the game.

PP7's li'l bro should be good. He was ineligible his first year, then had an ankle injury his second year. Looking forward to seeing what he can do.

no chance?

In 2011, Odell started and Jarvis was the 3rd option as true freshmen. And that team had a proven veteran in Rueben Randle as a junior. The 2014 team has no proven WR like that. Don't sit here and tell me there is "no chance."

Ok and how many of times have you seen LSU line up in a 3 WR set on the first play of the game?

One would have to assume that Dural can lock down one of the top 2 WR spots. Barring an injury, it is HIGHLY unlikely that both of those true freshman will be starting mid season. Does that mean they won't both see nice PT? No. But starting both of them is unlikely.

Diarse and spears are 2 very good young receivers. I'm surprised Diarse didn't contribute at all. Spears was making some noise just before the season started. Miles mentioned both of them along with others like Jefferson who we didn't see in a major role until the end of the season.

Not to worry. The only true freshmen wrs to make major impacts this century have been Clayton and beckham. Bowe, lafell, Landry, randle, and many other great tiger receivers played a minor role their first year on campus and had a big second season.

I didn't say it is likely to happen. I said it just wouldn't surprise me, as we know little to nothing about what Dural, Leslie, Peterson, Diarse, and Spears can do.

I think most would have him as our #1 option right now, but I would not say he has it locked down by any means.

If they can pack a little muscle on Leslie I'd like to see how he plays. At 6-4 he'd make a nice target for whoever gets the QB nod.
