That sounds like JBE did something good.
He was under political pressure at the time to do something. F. King's involvement in the Yahoo New Pat Forde article about Will Wade pissed a lot of LSU fans off and F. King fell for the witch hunt on Will Wade. JBE was up for reelection and a lot of LSU fans were calling for F. King's head, me being one of them. I was really pissed off at the time...lol. It made it easy at the time for JBE to give his friends on the LSU BOS a call and fire King. From there JBE secured votes for reelection (not mine).

JBE has alot of faults, ALOT
But he is truly a die hard LSU fan and wants best for the university. When the media did a FOIA request during the Wade debacle, JBE was using his position to email the board to try and figure out when Wade would be back

You are correct in your view, in my opinion.JBE definitely launched F. King and was willing to work with major Republicans like Richard Lipsey, who is a large Gun Distributor and 2nd Amendment guy. Lipsey who was a former LA Board of Regents guy, appointed by Bobby Jindal, was never a fan of F King Alexander and publicly stated what many LSU Academics felt, F. King never had the credentials to be President of a R1 University that had played Athletically in the SEC.
Lipsey endorsing JBE was strategic politics and those 2 were the ones who in my opinion were the muscle to Launch F King. JBE by that time had control of the board and Lipsey being a Jindal appointee himself indicated that it was not a political job to make Bobby Look bad for his people hiring F. King (which they 100% did).
Right. I remember now. Lipsey was kind of the nucleus to get rid of King. Lipsey wanted him long gone before the Pat Forde Yahoo News article but Lipsey leveraged King's reaction to that article and rallied the people against King and JBE being up for reelection did what he could only do if he wanted to get reelected, get the BOS to fire King.

Even if your scenario were true or you theory, the facts remain F King was 100% Bobby's hire. JBE did not obtain a majority of the LSU BOS until June of 2018, even then a simple majority. The firing of Alleva was spring of 2019 and the scuttlebutt was very clear that if JBE were elected, F. King was going to be gone.
Richard Lipsey, who was a Jindal Appointee backed JBE, much of his angst towards the Jindal appointed LSU BOS, Jindal, related to their hiring F. King Alexander.
You only became interested in getting rid of F. King due to the Wade and yahoo sports article, their were others wanting him gone long, long before that, and in fact were never happy he was hired from the start do to his weak academic credentials that I have already laid out in an earlier post.
So to be fair, effective 1 June 2020, with the appointment of Baton Rouge Businessman Jim Bernhard, JBE now has total control over the LSU BOS. So the next hire for President of LSU will be on JBE. If he screws it up, the way Jindal did with F. King, he should be criticized as well.

Well I still see it a little differently. Lipsey, like JBE, and unlike Jindal, are LSU Graduates. Lipsey being a former Board of Regents member who was both a Republican and Jindal Appointee allowed JBE to work with a major Republican and launch Bobby Jindals LSU BOS pick F-King without it being perceived as a political.
When Jindal launched Lombardi, it was much more political because it was under the the Late Governor Blanco that Lombardi was hired and Jindal did not have a super majority of the LSU BOS when he fired him (Blanco's people fought against it).
When JBE launched F. King, he got his people and I think Lipsey got on the phone with the last of Jindal's people and got enough of them to go along so that it was not like a 9-7 or 10-8 type vote, etc.

100% Bobby Jindal. The LSU BOS, his supermajority controlled board did not do a search per se. He was hired and never interviewed or was questioned by LSU Faculty. The LSU Faculty condemned the Process. Hank Danos, was the guy who said publicly he was the was the sole finalist. I don't think anyone ever new who else was in the candidate pool.
Alexander's rise in Academic Administration had Red Flags all over it.
I remember it being controversial and people speaking out against it at the time.
One of the biggest mistakes in the history of the school.
