At what point does it become a financially sound decision to buy him out?

Is it when attendance starts to consistently tank?

I either want them to keep him all ten years or make a financially irresponsible move to buy him out now or next year.

I also want everyone there to catch herpes and for their left leg to be slightly longer than their right leg so they walk around in fricking circles.

True story: dated A girl my freshman year who had a roommate that transferred to A&M after the first semester. Saw my girlfriend that next summer and said she got herpes about 2 weeks after moving to College Station….

Coincidence? I think not!

Dude, if you want to be a prick, have the balls to own it. Don’t act like a pussy and disingenuously qualify your statement with “not to be a Dick”, when you clearly meant to be one…

I would expect some sort of negotiated buyout. Maybe Jimbo gets half, which would still be a sweet $45M or whatever. In exchange they won’t find a reason to fire him for cause and he’ll be able to gracefully exit rather than trudge along.

What makes you think that Jimbo would ever settle for half? The only way I see that happening is IF Aggy makes a move to terminate with cause and Jimbo is afraid that he could possibly get nothing. He appears to be very unstable in his press conferences and probably one difficult question away from blowing up. They won’t ask Jimbo the difficult questions right now…but it’s coming.

I don’t know that ticket sales will really slump based on my interactions with the typical Aggie. They are seriously brainwashed into thinking Aggie is the best and will always be the best. This “suffering” all makes for a better story that they will tell to anyone and everyone who will listen if they ever have some success.

You answered your own question:

I just threw out half as an arbitrary number. Point is, his buyout is absurd that he could take a reduction, avoid the headache of either continuing to coach or fighting over a termination for cause, and still walk with more money than he’d ever be able to spend.

When Kyle Field is consistently half full or less.

At that point you start looking at trying to negotiate a buyout. It’s costing you more to keep him, and chances are, he’ll want out due to the toxicity of the environment.

I get it. I probably have stated that Jimbo “should” consider a negotiated buy-out but I don’t believe he actually would. Do you think he has a chance of getting another job with comparable pay as a HC? Do you think anyone wants him in a (Rehab) role as OC?
