Which was the worse debacle, not letting Les go( hiring Jimbo) or the Wade suspension?

Hm, let’s see: chances of finding a football coach to make LSU football decent vs chances of finding a coach to make LSU basketball decent.

Les. But the wade situation just makes the Admin look even worst. Didnt know that was possible after the Les debacle.

hell thrown in the UF game debacle. Every single game in Florida, all the way down to Miami, was played that weekend.

It blows my mind that these things KEEP happening and people still go out there and defend Alleva.

Les. I understand the Wade suspension. The way they handled Les was classless and insulted me.

Les.

1. Sullied the career ending of a great coach and man
2. Caused LSU to miss out on a top candidate in Fisher
3. Ruined the 2016 season
4. Ultimately led to the hire of Eddy O

Les Miles saga.
No matter how “good” LSU Basketball may be, screwing around with the university’s cash cow, football, is by far a more unforgivable sin. The $hit show media circus the whole Miles fired/not fired Jimbo hired/not hired fiasco was, even today still is with the “I am the search committee” & hiring of O, was a far worse stain on LSU athletics than this WW thing. It boils down to LSU fans caring more about football than basketball on any given day.

it all goes back to the Miles extension of 2013. they should have called his bluff and let him go to arkansas.

Les thus far.
The story is not yet complete with Wade.

Football.
Firing Les, hiring the replacement. Hell, I thought the way they handled Chavis was amateur hour as well (calling his bluff during the negotiating of his new contract without a backup plan). In each of these instances, the administration was in control, they didn't need to be reactionary but still managed to handle it like crap. The Wade thing fell out of the sky.

The Les debacle, of course. We could of had Jimbo on a silver platter. Instead Alleva's vacillation in the matter was full awkward, and Jimbo wisely decided, "well, f*k it". And when LSU hire Oeaux full term and Aggy gave a big contract to Jimbo, that was enough to sicken even the least squeamish.

The current regime doesn't have a clue of how to get LSU athletics above the rungs of mediocrity.

Both were easily avoidable PR nightmares. Not sure how FK and JA survived the first one.
