I wanted Herman.

I would agree with your statement. O had the right people around him to make up for his shortcomings. And when he doesn’t have that safety net, I think he becomes exposed for what he is, a below average head coach who had all the stars align for him in 2019

I support O, and I hope he laughs and laughs and laughs as he lives happily on his buyout money. I hope he keeps banging coeds and the Louisiana taxpayer day after day after glorious day. The way he upped his net worth in the past four years has been glorious to watch. Dude will always be coach of the best LSU football team ever.

You and your bedfellow CaptPanic were trashing Burrow after 2018 saying he would be lucky to get drafted so I'd hold off on ridiculing anyone else.
I wanted Jimbo, but once it looked like his interest in LSU was a game to get a better contract I was done with him. I was never a fan of Herman. I had no strong feelings for O either way. Once he was named HC I supported him because his success meant LSU's success. That didn't stop me from criticizing some of his stupid moves, but I was definitely on the positive side of center.

Cool. You should start an O Droppings Board. You could probably get one or two other idiots to join you, and you could all have a circle jerk anytime you want.

Maybe they were, maybe they weren't, but honestly the hardcore O supporters were far more likely to throw players and other coaches under the bus (e.g., Pirate and Aranda).

All the above are specific examples of coaches who relied/rely on coordinators and were/are successful. Hell most HCs don't call plays on either side of the ball and rely on their coordinators. It wasn't the model that was the issue. It was the CEO's inability to hire good coordinators.
Uhhhhhh

I wish I remembered the posters wanting MB to start and also wanting TDP and Emory to play over CEH. We have some real knowledgeable football posters on this board

"Coach" is a strong word for what he is. Let's just say he holds the position.
That's cool that you like a con artist more than LSU football though.

All he had to do was keep to the "binder", hire the best coordinator's and he would have been fine. Instead ego, got the best of him after 2019 with Brady, Burrow, & aranda getting credit for N.C., he got off track and wanted to show he could do it, even though he knew he could not. I have a friend that played with him at N.W. State, and he is not capable mentally! Now no known coordinator would work for him, so we have what we have. Time to move on

He doesn't know what that means though, that's the problem.
May as well make me the coach. What are my credentials? Well, I want LSU to win, and I will hire the best people to do that. These are all meaningless aphorisms.

You extreme O haters need to accept the fact that O will be forever entwined in LSU football history. Anytime the 2019 team is honored, your boy O will be there. O is the big winner here any way you slice it.

No, and I wasn't the day that he was. Why do you ask? Are you not able to infer the reason for my response regarding Miles?

No, again, why?

I was high on Burrow and Brady early on so I have no issue taking flak for being on the somewhat positive side of supporting O.
In response to criticism of Burrow's 2018 TD pass drought and alluding to what Brady could do (7/12/19):
quote:
I think that was more poor scheme and bad utilization of our WRs' individual skills. Giles never should have started and Chase should have gotten more snaps. Sullivan and Ensminger did not do our passing game any favors with simplistic route trees, slow developing plays, limited motion and keeping TE's and RBs in to block instead of quick release plays

but you probably have anger issues with posters that wanted Miles gone for years right? Seems to be a pattern with all the Miles lovers

Nope. I understand why you're lashing out though. When did your O cognitive dissonance start? Last year? After Auburn this year? After Kentucky?
