Which other school is most comparable to LSU..

when considering historical success in college football? Based on metrics such as national championships, Heisman winners, conference championships, and overall winning percentage. For me, it's Florida. Downvote away but UF under Spurrier was something else.

LSU has more of pretty much everything meaningful than Clemson or Auburn.

Yep, and I think it boils down to UGA. The only football power and SEC school in their state, extremely good but not elite for most of its history, became elite with more success in last twenty five years than previous fifty.

Are we talking just football?
LSU has a .655 winning percentage, Clemson has a .650 winning percentage, and Auburn has a .628 winning percentage.
Clemson has won 20 conference championships, LSU and Auburn have both won 16.
LSU has four national championships ('58, '03, '07, & '19)
Clemson has three national championships ('81, '16, & '18)
Auburn has two national championships ('57 & '10)
