when considering historical success in college football? Based on metrics such as national championships, Heisman winners, conference championships, and overall winning percentage. For me, it's Florida. Downvote away but UF under Spurrier was something else.

Same here.

FTR, we're still waiting on our "Spurrier."

LSU has more of pretty much everything meaningful than Clemson or Auburn.

Georgia or Florida are better comps

1958 gives us the old school cred Florida and The U don’t have. They were both historically quite shitty.

I’m gonna say Texas.

Yep, and I think it boils down to UGA. The only football power and SEC school in their state, extremely good but not elite for most of its history, became elite with more success in last twenty five years than previous fifty.

Hmmm? Kind of an interesting question…. Let’s check AI:

When comparing college football teams similar to LSU (Louisiana State University) in terms of national championships, awards, and Heisman winners, **Auburn University** and **University of Florida** are strong parallels. Here's how they stack up:

### 1. **National Championships**:
- **LSU**: 4 claimed national titles (1958, 2003, 2007, 2019).
- **Auburn**: 2 claimed national titles (1957, 2010).
- **Florida**: 3 claimed national titles (1996, 2006, 2008).

### 2. **Heisman Trophy Winners**:
- **LSU**: 3 winners (Billy Cannon in 1959, Joe Burrow in 2019, Jayden Daniel’s in 2023).
- **Auburn**: 3 winners (Pat Sullivan in 1971, Bo Jackson in 1985, Cam Newton in 2010).
- **Florida**: 3 winners (Steve Spurrier in 1966, Danny Wuerffel in 1996, Tim Tebow in 2007).

### 3. **Awards**:
- **LSU** has a rich history of individual player awards (e.g., Joe Burrow won multiple prestigious awards in 2019).
- **Auburn** has had major award winners like Bo Jackson and Cam Newton, who won several national player awards.
- **Florida** has produced numerous All-Americans and individual award winners, such as Danny Wuerffel and Tim Tebow.

UT Austin. Both have 4 NC's and a history of underperforming and squandering talent.

Are we talking just football?

LSU has a .655 winning percentage, Clemson has a .650 winning percentage, and Auburn has a .628 winning percentage.

Clemson has won 20 conference championships, LSU and Auburn have both won 16.

LSU has four national championships ('58, '03, '07, & '19)
Clemson has three national championships ('81, '16, & '18)
Auburn has two national championships ('57 & '10)

LSU and Auburn have had three Heisman Trophy winners, Clemson has had none.

LSU is 16 in all-time winning percentage, while Clemson and Auburn are 18 and 22 respectively.

I will concede your point about Florida; they're more similar to LSU than Auburn. However, to say Clemson and Auburn aren't historically similar to LSU is not true.
