we need to stop hiring from within, and go get a new young head coach....the game is changing, our coaches are not..

We 100% wouldn’t be talking about firing him and paying another massive buy out

Our defense would be light years better, can't speak for the offense

I don't care who the HC is, the depth, experience, and talent on our two lines is horrendous. That isn't going to get fixed this year without getting some players healthy, period.

obviously, if Aranda was HC Imra and Harvey would have come to Baton Rouge...we dodged a bullet!

Still screwed. HC needs to be:
1. Sufficiently knowledgeable about all areas of coaching to get up in a coach's face credibly when he's not performing (sort of like an orchestra conductor who may not be a great drummer but knows enough about it).
2. Really a top talent on either offense or defense.
3. A real a**hole in dealing with failure. Saban, Bryant, Meyer, Harbaugh (either of them), Belechik, etc.

Not sure Aranda fits more than 1 category.

Where would we be if Aranda was hired as HC? We'd still be getting manhandled at the line of scrimmage!

We have come too far to make a guy whos never coached as a HC the coach of LSU.

You do realize Vince Lombardi and Bill Walsh were assistants at one point, right?

Oklahoma's last two hires have been first time HCs. But yeah we've "come too far"
