If the media wants the game of the century, they need it to be pitched in the vein of irresistable force meets the immovable object. Some have to say LSU is better, some have to say Bama is better, some have to say, "my god they are both unbelievable." Smith was assigned the task of trumpeting Bama and he's taking his job seriously.

The only reason why I think we're getting more yards/game than LSU is due to field position.

With all due respect, field position plays a part, no doubt. But I also think Bama's numbers are skewed slightly by the 586 on N. Tx and 482 against Kent St.

Robert Smith is a talentless asshat hack who has no business being on any network offering any opinion whatsoever. I say this regarding all of his "analysis", whether it includes LSU or not.

he's really smart and he knows he has a role to perform, and is doing that

smith knows what he's doing

i don't know why stuff like this bothers you (and others). it's like saying our defense is bad because west virginia got so many yards against us. there is no reward for being more balanced on offense like there's no reward for putting up more yardage than an opponent. at least the yardage thing is measureable. we haven't thrown much, but we can.

From watching the games.

The stats prove otherwise about Bama being more balanced, but who cares. He just says what's on his mind.

He is just really really really apt to give LSU really constructive criticism. I would let the players hear what the tard says and I bet it might be a good fire under their asses each week.

Against BCS Conference teams:

Bama runs 60.4% of the time. They average 5.6 yards/offensive play. Bama has played 4 BCS teams.

LSU runs 66.5% of the time. They average 5.4 yards/offensive play. LSU has played 5 BCS teams.

Their offenses are basically identical as far as balance.
