but it seems pretty obvious that JJ's curve is a little steeper than most.
Compared to who? I think JJ's coming along at lightning speed. Every week he shows you somethine new. What is up with our fans' expectations?

The guy plays scared to make a mistake and very little pocket presence and feel which leads to a ton more sacks then someone as athletic as he is should get.
I'm not bashing the guy and i do feel pretty comfortable that the guy won't just lose a game for us with int's but he doesn't but he is not a "natural qb". Don't get me wrong, he is doing an adequate job, is a good kid, and works hard and i'm pulling for him.
FYI I am comparing JJ to many many qb's i've seen over the years (i.e. Ryan Mallet, Jevon Sneed, Matt Stafford, Leinert, Sanchez, etc see the difference) He is a 3rd year qb with almost a full year of experience, inexperience is not an excuse at this point imo

well a "good passing qb" is going to need GREAT receivers. Unfortuanatley, they are not nearly as stacked as we are.
Plus i think we have the best secondary in the sec, maybe the nation.
So yea, i am really liking our chances if brantley gets his first start in tiger stadium.
They will try to run the ball and run the ball. Watch for play action, if they establish the run. But if they become one demisional we shut the shite down.

yes 100% our chances of winning vs brantley are better than vs tebow.
We can beat both and lose to both however imo, their defense is legit and our offense is mostly just a lot of potential at this point...

Say what? Don't tell me Les Miles somehow stole Janoris Jenkins and Joe Haden from our team bus.
To answer the OP, Brantley is a hell of a QB and has all the potential in the world to be a Gator great. He has one of the best arms I've seen in college football. It's not so much that Brantely is going to come off the bench and lead UF to a title, it's that UF already has a stellar stable of running backs and a stout defense and it's that combo that gives us that confidence.

corners and safetys yes. Peterson, jones, hawkings, taylor i would take that over just about anybody.
Can't really say that, because i dont know enough about all the teams.
BUt its the best we have had in a while. And that says ALOT

I think some of us might be reliving 2003 simply because our W/L record is good. Look at the stats:
Wash TotYds: 478 Passing: 321 Rush: 157
Vandy TotYds: 210 Passing: 88 Rush: 122
ULL TotYds: 272 Passing: 163 Rush: 109
MSU TotYds: 374 Passing: 223 Rush: 151
UGA TotYds: 274 Passing: 229 Rush: 45
What will UF end up with?

somewhere in between, How does the rest of Fl. team go from a running q.b. to pure passer in just a few days with out playing.?

I doubt Brantley will be horrible, but I seriously doubt he'll be as good as the gator fans are expecting. He's young and he'll take some time to develop.
I would think a serious concern for UF is what happens if Brantley gets knocked out of this game. LSU_UF and LSU-Bama games are some of the most violent games you will ever see. Brantley is going to take some serious hits in this game, and I'll guarantee you he hasn't been taking those in practice. I don't care how good UF's 3rd stringer is, he definitely won't be that well prepared. ...On the other hand, they might just put Demps in at QB and run the wild gator.
