Were they on the roster when Ed took over? I'm not asking if they played, were they on the roster?
To help you out, Etling was the QB in 2016 and 2017. You just said there was no one on the roster behind Brennan in Ed's second year, which is incorrect. How do I know? Because I saw Etling play in 2017 in person. On the roster behind him, were the players Madking listed, and after them was Brennan.

That's two examples, Brennan in that year and a few minutes ago where you said Max is better this season because Ed knows how to develop players.

One year is not enough to expect a QB to be ready to play out of HS. It happens. But can’t be expected.
Look at clemson.
