Saban is working overtime on the jet sweep. We could still fake the jet sweep and get some rushing yards out of it but those lanes will close awfully fast for Guice. Traditional WR routes are pretty much off the table but for a few chance completions.

So how do you attack that Bama D?

Well it certainly won't be by running pro style left tackle or right tackle
And for that I'm very happy

I like that too. It won't be running into a wall mindlessly.

Deep balls and find a way to make them catchable and find a way to catch them

Only way we beat them is if we can throw the ball effectively, win in the trenches, and keep Hurts from making a play with his legs

If we try to do stuff that “keeps Danny comfortable, throws that we know he can make, etc..” we will get eaten alive by a Bama.

Bama follows the same schedule during LSU prep week that they’ve followed for 6 years. They’ve literally had to change nothing. Why not throw a wrinkle at them? I’m not talking about a flea flicker. I hate flea flickers. They always fail.

Come out slinging VERTICALLY, then maybe that’ll help our running game get established.

If we make lateral passes and try to outflank them somehow, it will be a long day

we will spread them horizontally with runs but if we cannot sustain a intermediate pass game it is prolly lights out. just like we will need guys close to the LOS to stop bamas between the tackles run game and horiontal pass game...bama may have to do same to stop our stretch runs....make hurts throw vertically to beat us. take away best 2 options that i listed. but yeah it will be tough for us on offense. even tougher than defense.

I would assume Saban will have jet sweep and shuffle pass on lock down. Unless Canada has other plays or even more pre-snap motion, there will be trouble.

Offense will have to come from Etling making clutch plays with his arm and legs, such as 3&8 conversion situations to keep drives sustainable. Grit will be needed, but so will talent this week. Not the week to overthrow wide open 15yd passes.

I agree....on paper, seems we don't match well for this game and for this year. Doubt we'll establish a running game even with the jet sweeps. They'll be waiting for it. I would open the game with a bomb! Why not! Need to roll the dice and who knows, it may be complete or make them defend...interference would be nice!

So, we need to move out of the comfort level and play without restraints! Just my opinion that doesn't matter

2005, 2006 or 2007 or maybe in the secret notebook paper slid in the cheeks of Derek’s arse. It was withheld from the original binder.

Stay in shotgun; throw and run out of the gun please no play action there is no time/protection. Run draws, shovel passes, flat passes, slants and post routes. I would also use an offset I and lead a FB for Guice

TEs and RBs in the flats and jerk routes.

Throwing deep is going to give too much time for those steroid saturated monsters of Bama to get to Danny.

that is fine until they move everybody up then what?

if you cannot throw intermediate/deep over top of coverage it is over.

Handoff to Guice, who heads into the line then turns around and pitches back to Etling who hits a streaking Chark for a TD!
Flea-flicker!

They are going to substitute in former offensive linemen, like Mawae and La'el, instead of our regular linemen.
