When LSU gets an OL that can dominate opponent DLs, LSU will have a dominate RB. This season the OL is meh...luckily the LSU Defense (except for UNC, AU and Arky) saved the struggling OL from too much embarrassment. Hopefully next season they'll be a little stronger and more experienced.

Our RBs are pretty damn good considering our line is poo! Dbacks and Rbacks aren't the problem, we need a line and a got damn QUARTERBACK!!!

Ridley is prob top 3 in the SEC for rb's and i would say top 10 or 15 in the nation as for as talent goes...as for heart hes #1
Dont tell that to Lester Earl. He thinks Ridley sucks and he will use another 110,000 posts to tell you why!!

Forget Maximus and LesterEarl... they're not only wrong about Ridley, but about KW. Crowton's West Coast O doesn't allow for a dominant back. LSU's O was poor because GC put the ball in an inferior QB's hands every... every play. What do you expect ??? SR's talents are far better than Scott, because he is not a one dimensional power back. I'm guessing, but I bet he will go pro. He remembers what happened to CS, Black, and Lavell.

When we get signed the running backs we have committed to us this year. and watch out if we get our QB everybody wants.

When we get a real line coach and experienced strong big lineman.

are you comparing Ridley to what Ingram did last year?

Would you take Ridley over:
Ingram
Richardson
Knile Davis
Brandon Bolden
Mike Dyer
Marcus Lattimore
I wouldnt.
Give anyone of these guys 225 carries and they lead the SEC RB's in rushing this year.

when you have no threat to pass the ball and teams stack the box but you still rush for 1,000+ yards i would say thats outstanding

Ingram
Richardson
Knile Davis
Brandon Bolden
Mike Dyer
Marcus Lattimore
Impressive list! How good would they be running behind LSU's line with Coach Stud coaching and Crowton play calling. Formations tell the defense where the ball is going before the hand off.

ingram and lattimore are great. Ridley may be as good but hard to tell with our O line
Posted on 11/30/10 at 3:23 pm to Tigerfan53
ahhh, the old Offensive line argument. Our offensive line isnt bad at all. That was last year.
Michael Ford and Shep had enough holes to gain over 6 and 7 yards per carry respectively.

Did you miss Knile Davis on Saturday in the 4th Q against our "vaunted" defense?
You cant tell me Steven Ridley is even close to being that same talent bracket.

Ingram, Bolden, Dyer and Knile Davis all out performed Ridley in their matchups with LSU.
You either A) didnt watch much SEC ball this year or B)you are just that big of a homer.

Or C), I think those guys had better offensive lines and more credible passing threats in 2010, ergo, I value what Lattimore and Ridley did more, in having to carry more of the load for their respective offenses.
Is that even remotely reasonable? Or am I just that big of a homer?
I think that if you can't support your own team, get the he*l out of the stadium.
Go America!
Geaux Tigers!

Maybe your not aware of this but the running backs do not play against each other.

Everybody who thinks Ridley is a great back is a homer!! I really dont think you know shite about football!!

Who cares how they performed head to head? Dyer and Bolden both play in an option offense. I'd take Knile Davis over Ridley. Ingram? Not this year. Trent Richardson? Nope.
I'm damn excited about Ford seeing more and more snaps though
