If they are going to build one, I would suggest something like Gallagher-IBA Arena at Okie State where the fans are on top of the court. That place is bad arse.

The new arenas are nice because ALL the seats, even the uppers, are close to the court.

The PMAC has that decades-old obsolete design where the farther back you go, the farther from the court you are.

But I agree, it's a low priority. The PMAC will not be razed anytime soon.

You want to replace the PMAC because you don't like what the outside looks like? When we are drawing 25000 on a regular basis, maybe. Nothing wrong with the inside of the facility."

Assembly Center holds approx 14,000

except for the fact that stands are far away from the court, it has no suites or potential to build them.

I would guess around 2040-45.

It would probably be in conjunction with Mike's next cage, moving the street and eventually bowling upper Tiger Stadium (North End Zone) with more suites - also, the price of oil needs to hit $150/barrel...

I like it. I like Pitt's because of the suites at court level.

It'll take 5-10 years of consistent competitiveness to get the fringe fans on board to the extent to where we can even consider upgrading or razing the PMAC. For what we have now in terms of fan interest, the PMAC is more than nice and accommodating enough. I do find that my legs are pretty crammed in certain areas of the building, though. And I'm just below 6' tall. Can't imagine being 6'4" or 6'5" and trying to squeeze in certain rows.

6'3" and it is pretty rough but I haven't been an arena or stadium yet that I had enough leg room (outside of the suite in SKC)

New dorms/dining hall
Bernie Moore renovation
new natatorium
volleyball practice facility
renovation of TS lower bowl (restrooms, concessions, accessibility, etc)

I can guarantee you all of the projects listed above are in higher priority than a new arena. I do agree that the exterior of the PMAC is a huge eye sore, but the interior is nice; don't forget the new practice facility.

Ben Simmons would have to start a recruiting revolution for LSU to get the consistency of demand needed for expansion anyways.

Was in before OM game and looks just fine! Don't care for Pitt inside.

All of those could go on the same fundraising effort. A new arena could be the headliner.

I am sure that it could be turned into a stand alone facility or incorporated into a new arena in the same location.

The pmac is fine. They lied a few years ago about replacing the video board. It needs to happen. There is room on the upper level to construct suites. Not sure why they havent.

Any suites built at the top of the PMAC would be too far away from the court.

How about we fix up some of the academic building first? This is a university first not a sport conglomerate.

The bottom of the upper level is not too far from the court for some type of suites
