They hit 6 in the very next game after USC in 1998.

A group of us watched game 1 against USC at Brewbacher’s on Nicholson. We were meeting there to watch the game and then head to Omaha immediately afterwards. After losing, we all looked at each other and said, “There’s no way these frickers can beat the Tigers twice” and promptly pulled out for Omaha. The rest is history but we made a helluva trip out of it.
