The only justified "complaints" are that THIS team, while good, could be much much better if they played just a lick of defense. Add just 4 more wins to the resume (there are 4 games this season where they scored at least 80 and still lost) and this is a top 15 team and (likely) 4 seed (if not better) in the NCAAT.

This! Every year at the end of the season you can look back at the games you "should have" won. LSU was up big on ranked Auburn on the road, yet lost it. LSU's second half collapses have been hard to watch this year.

For LSU to be at the magical 20 win number right now after losing some early non conference games is a good year.

If Watford, Williams, and Smart had any sense, they need to stick around for at least one more year. It makes no sense for them to leave early.

Watford is getting abused on defense.

Absolutely miserable games to watch.

Again, I guess it is a lost concept for most, but it is ENTIRELY possible to both be thrilled with the direction of the program AND a bit disappointed this team hasn't been a better than they have been.
absolutely correct.

Agreed. It is the idiots who seem to either be trolling or truly believe that he does not have the program headed in the right direction that look ridiculous on here.

I don’t think he’d be drafted at all

ESPN latest mock has him going like mid-2nd round.

He shoots decent from 3-point range and is crafty around the rim but he needs more in his shooting bag than spot up 3's. If he could hit a turnaround 14-foot jumper or improve his handle going towards the rim from the perimeter he'd be a first rounder. With one more year I think he's skilled enough to play his way into a 1st round pick. Hopefully, he sees it the same way.

actually, I was agreeing with the other part of the post - that fans can be happy with the elevation of the program, but still be disappointed that we lost 5 of 7, with horrific defense, after starting the SEC 8-0.

I mean I agree with your statement, and sure it sucks... but there are literally people on the board who have called for Wade to lose his job, or say he's a terrible coach because of it.

And that's insane

Oh he has them in the right direction. But this year's team has hit a wall.... Not sure why. Hey let's win the next two and we will see.

Everything in your post is pretty much spot on. Only thing we differ on is that I thought we’d get back to 20 wins and the dance. I think your assessment and pre season prediction was perfectly rational I just thought that we had enough talent and leadership to get us back to the post season. With the way Wade continues to recruit and the style he plays I don’t think it’s too soon to raise the bar for LSU basketball. I think getting to the NCAA tourney should be the new standard under Wade.
