Wondering what the game day experience is like at UCLA. Is there a good tailgating scene or is there no point to showing up more than like an hour before kickoff?

Wandering the same. Are there any sport bars to watch the games that day? Is there an LSU tailgate party somewhere?

Old Town Pasadena has some cool bars and restaurants that I'm planning on checking out. Not sure what tailgating around the stadium is like though.

What’s East Pasadena like? That’s where my hotel is.

Haven't been over there but I have a buddy who grew up there. I'll send him a text and report back.

REMEMBER you won't be in the south anymore....football is not that important elsewhere

UCLA fans are weak at best. Tailgating is a joke and the fans that attend spend more time on cell phones than watching the game.

I went to two UCLA games in the Rose Bowl in 2004. One Vs Washington St & the last game against USC when Reggie Bush did a flip in the end zone after running for a TD. The fans there are VERY laid back. Even in the USC game the fans of both teams were very nice to each other & all seemed to just hang out & tailgate together. It doesn’t have the intensity that we are used to in the south.

The Rose Bowl itself is probably my favorite college football stadium that I have been to. If you are on the home press box side & the end zone to its right you have a great view of the mountains in the background. You all are going to have a great time as long as Gavin Newsome doesn’t do something to screw it all up.

UCLA is a joke as far as tailgating goes.

I was at the Rose Bowl several years back when UCLA played USC, and I had the exact opposite impression. I was surprised at the number of tailgaters, and how much nice space there was for tailgating around the Rose Bowl.

Old Town Pasadena

This.

I have hit the bars in Old Town up before and after USC-UCLA games. I could see people tailgating on Brookside Golf course next to stadium, but never bothered to check it out.

I have played golf there tho.

Appreciate it. Any specific places you’d recommend?

Got a response back hen I asked about where to stay (Downtown LA, Hollywood, Paadena).

I would stay in Pasadena but thats because of the culture, walking distance to the stadium, nightlife, and the ability to easily get to Holltwood or downtown if you wanted to.

The 35er and Barney's Beanery. Other old haunts (like Mr. Pocket's billiard hall on Colorado Blvd.) have closed.

There are others (Olde Town Pub) for sure.
