NIL and transfer makes everything different moving forward. Can’t compare anything to past as of now.

So, we should be satisfied with mediocre football and Basketball teams despite a hundred million dollar HC.
What a bargain.

Im of the same opinion as Booger Mcfarland. LSU has the talent but are not as "TUFF" as they were in the Les Miles days.

I know college coaches have the same fears as Pro coaches and that is letting high $$$ players go live every play due to the possibility of injury.

I disagreed with a lot he did but you cannot deny the Tigers were more a physical than they are now.

We were only in that bowl because they were scraping the bottom of the barrel to find teams willing to play in the post-Covid landscape.

The main difference is better QB play over 2020 & 2021

We posted back to back 6 win seasons. And had no line of sight to anything better.

Now we have won 10,10 and8.. we have an excellent recruiting class. We have a top five QB coming back.

Already have significant portal additions

Much much better

Just because you can't see it, that doesn't mean it's not in a better spot. It is, very much so, i can see it. I still don't see Kelly winning a title, but LSU will be good more often that not.

Not sure that BK is going to get it done.

We didn't play anyone in the CFP.

We kept three teams out. Ole Miss and USCe for obvious reasons, and Bama by exposing OU a week after they beat the Tide. If we had lost to OU, Bama would have been in the field over SMU.

Is this the standard at LSU now? I swear some of our fans have such a loser's mentality.

We are not considered a punch line around the country any more.
We are a place good players want to play for.

This year was the only year I've been dissatisfied with. No playoffs next year no more Kelly.

Now compare the cost of firing "O" and hiring "K"?
Would 40 million make us competitive in the Portal Mkt?

Can you imagine asking Orgeron's dumb arse to handle NIL? It's okay to admit that he was an idiot who never had any business being in charge of a major college football program, while also admitting that Kelly is a mediocre coach. Kelly's floor and his ceiling aren't that far apart. He will win most of the games he's supposed to. He will lose most of the games he's "supposed to". And he will never win you a championship. His resume is what it is and it's not going to change. The comparison to Mark Richt is pretty accurate, except that Richt is a likeable guy.

the portal and NIL remain like it is you better get used to this type of turnover every single season.

Until they put some guardrails on both of these this is the reality

Thought I'd give credit for the most substantive thing in you post.

Before the 22 season and recruits and portal, we had Dellinger and Turner left with a ton of fricking dead weight who all ended up transferring out to lower levels. Please provide any facts to prove otherwise.

Anthony Bradford (who's starts in the NFL) - you do make this game easy.

I’ll give you Martinez

Great, that means we have (1) Dellinger, (2) Turner, (3) Martinez, and (4) Bradford (who starts in the NFL). Does 3 = 4? You'll now be known as misey93.

You have nothing.

misey93, I admire your fan enthusiasm but you post like a moody teenage girl. Flailing your arms and throwing emoticons in the air in the parking lot is not an argument.

I hope you keep your enthusiasm but you'd be better served to dispense with your childish demeanor.

So we should just be happy with continuous 9-3/8-4 seasons is what you are saying? Dang my expectations are way too high for LSU football I guess. Sorry for wanting to be a championship caliber program instead of a Texas bowl program.

The OP asked the difference between when BK took over and now. Nobody is happy is 9-3/8-4. I just realize the program is stabilized. Has a core of really good players and it's obvious BK now has a plan for how he's going to attack the portal. People wanted to go from 6-6 to championship contender in 2/3 years. That's really hard to do when you start with a weak core of players and a bad culture. Things take time. And this isn't your fathers SEC. 9-3 is going to get you in the playoffs some years.
