What's the deal with Leonard Fournette in the pros?

He was so dominant in college and seemed to have the perfect game for the pros...but it hasn't translated at all. He looks very timid running the ball and his vision, which I though was quite good, seems non existent.

Nagging injuries? Did Miles run him into the ground? Curse of playing with the Jags?

Hes playing on an NFL team where gardner minshew is his QB and DJ Chark is the leading receiver.

LF is Jacksonvilles offense and even being the focus point for the defenses, hes averaging like 4-5 yards a carry.

I've always thought his vision was the worst part of his game.

Running through defenders in college is just a tad bit different than running through defenders in the pros.

Absolute shite offense around him isn’t helping things.

Besides Derrick Henry, the league is a better fit for smaller, shiftier backs who can catch the ball. Offensive styles in the NFL do not cater to Leonard

He's never had patience or good vision.

He's always been bigger, stronger, faster than everyone he's played against, until he got to the Pros, and now we are seeing that's was the only thing he was good at b/c he has no RB vision.

Football isn’t just a power game anymore. All the best backs in the league can catch the ball extremely well and can make people miss in the open field. Not saying LF can’t do those things, but they aren’t his strengths.

But LF does look like he’s in the best shape of his career this year and got rid of some off the field distractions.

And he’s still a good RB.

First year was promising.

Second year injury.

Third year (2019) starting QB out for season during Game 1 and now they start Minshew.

Jags aren’t exactly known for a commitment to winning. There truly are a few NFL franchises where I think players go and fade away - Jax being one.

He was great his rookie season until he got hurt, last season he played over weight and on a really bad offense. Foles getting hurt game 1 doesn't help him this season

I don’t think it so much Leonard, I watched yesterday’s game and that o-line is horrible!!

Another thing is, I will not ever call Fournette a bust till I see him with a capable QB. From high school to the pros he hasn’t even had average QB play. He’s dealt with a loaded box all his life, and if we wanna keep it real, he’s never had a capable o-line except for his rookie year

Giants and Barkley?

I haven't watched the jags this year, so I'm not sure. Maybe the Giants oline is better. But I do think injuries are a factor.

You're very right, and especially for a shite team like the Jags. Defensive schemes have advanced so much lately that the power running game is becoming a thing of the past.

I actually watched a replay clip of Favre's MNF game after his dad passed in 2003 and saw a split back formation. I cannot remember the last time I saw a split back formation

Poor guy can't catch a break. Every team he plays for has had issues at QB... Which has him running into stacked boxes all the time
