Well Gaye got hurt on the field. Boutte got carted off the field.

Ricks might have been able to play the rest of the season and out off the surgery, but I won’t fault a guy for not playing hurt in a 3-3 team.

If the injuries are real, then we should all totally understand. If this is just an extension of all the "opt-outs" then we have a huge problem. Last year opened the door for this.

If we were 5-0 i imagine Stingley & Ricks would be playing hurt. Boutee & Gaye seem to have more serious immediate injuries

It's funny it only happens to our star players, only they get season ending injuries
Yep Jared Small getting injured right before the season, that's definitely a star player. Ali Gaye with his 2.5 sacks and already missing 2 games because of injury, sure was a star for us too.

This has nothing to do with star players. Boutte landed wrong and had a bad injury, if you couldn't see that you're blind. Stingley missed games last year because of injury, they sat him out most of Fall camp because of injury (the same injury). No point in hobbling around on the same injury when the season is done. Ricks injured that shoulder in high school, injured last year, had surgery and was out for the spring, re-injured it this year, and decided to get it fixed because there is no point playing through a shite season with an injury.

Your dumbass should be happy they are doing this during the shite season instead of after which could make them worse.

Poor conditioning and some bad luck.

I just counted. Including the gold, non-contact players, there were 37 players out or injured in some way! Many of these are starters or were. How the hell can we win anything with so many players side-lined??? That is almost half the team! Why is LSU so plagued with injuries. The baseball team was the same way! Pitcher after pitcher with sore arms or undergoing Tommy John surgery! Is there something wrong with our training programs? Many players are hurt in practice in addition to the games. Unlucky??? Or is it something else????

Nothing to play for, program is a shite show. Probably figure why wait til off season to get right when they can get ahead of the game and be fully recovered and ready for the next coaching staff.

Agents working to get players ready for the NFL. The players don’t risk further injury, the school pays for the medical care, and they either leave early or transfer.

Assuming a player is hurt and has an NFL future, I don't fault him getting surgery.

But, I don't get this nothing to play for angle if they could still be playing. We still have 4 of our biggest rivalry games coming up and a chance at a bowl game. Not to mention pride. Not to mention being there for your teammates who are still laying it on the line. Not to mention a chance to play for your school a few more times this year.

All that said, it'd be hard for me to get my son to play for Coach 0 at this point. The man is and has always been a charlatan. :-/
