i wouldn't have anyone to walk me down the aisle during football season (not that i would ever do that unless the aisle was the 50 yard line!)

if you are a chick, ask your future husband what he prefers regarding the tv situation

ULL...Good luck then.
You may have to pull the "I'm the bride and it's my day and I want a tv for my grandmother watch" card.

I went to a wedding with a similar situation a few years back. The reception was at a country club in Celebration (outside of Orlando) and the Tigers were playing the Gators in football. I kept sneaking into the locker room to watch the game, and before long, more and more people were joining me. The bride noticed what was going on and turned on the tv's in the rececption area, in order to get people back to the wedding area. The place quickly turned into a sports bar type atmosphere, because the booze was flowing and the game was going back and forth (the Tigers won). I had a great time, but I would say that most people didn't appreciate how the focus turned away from the wedding. If I were you, I would say no tv.

I'm catholic and I got married during lent.
Me too, two days before Palm Sunday. The wife was excited because the church was already decorated with Easter lilys.

i love LSU baseball, but it's just baseball. it's not like this is LSU - Auburn football game (the reason for my Friday wedding). Just enjoy your wedding and catch the next game.

The ceremony is all about you, but the reception is to reward everyone for sitting through a boring arse ceremony. Therefore you should have the TV.

It is just a regional game I think you should be more focused on the wedding.

Its a diocese by diocese decision. NOLa doesn't allow it, or strongly discourages it. Some individual parishes won't either depending on the pastor.
In Mobile, you can, however it has to be approved and flowers in the church are not allowed.

i am getting married this sat at 1pm. should i have a tv on in another room at the reception? my grandmother is a HUGE lsu baseball fan.
I agree with most of the guys on here, it's "your" wedding, have the tv and if nothing else, do it for grandma.
BTW - If the Tigers win on Friday (as they should) they will not play until 6:00 pm on Saturday.

Tell your grandmother that she is the coolest grandmoster on the earth.
Now back to the thread...I would without a doubt have a tv. If your family is full of big time LSU fans chances are they will be at least listening to the game during your reception anyway (if they don't just leave it all together to go watch it).

If someone leaves a reception of a friend or family member for a regional baseball game they are an loser and should be kicked in the balls/punched in the boob.

RECEPTION!!!!!
I don't think at any point during this entire thread was the poster talking about putting a tv on during the wedding.

Hell yeah have the game on! What is the big deal, it is your wedding! Your grandmother will love it too! It will not be nearly as as crazy as a football game atmosphere.
If all else fails be a Bridezilla!

I meant Reception. A friend or family member should also be viewing it as one event and not two.
