Not the point. The point being it's one of the reason's UGA slapped us in the SEC championship game last year. It's one of the reasons they have had tons of success recently. To be elite in the SEC you have to have dominate dline play. When i say that i mean DL depth with talented DT's. Two teams that have been dominate over the last decade Bama and UGA have had this. Sure LSU won it in 2019 but the Offense carried the load. We don't want to be them but we want to have that DL depth because thats how you make the playoffs every year. Right now LSU needs more talent at the DT spot as far as depth compared to the elite teams.

Why is anyone comparing LSU to UGA or Bama. Our program is recovering from an absolute shite show and total collapse and you guys think we should already be on UGAs level? That’s completely unrealistic.

We have 10 that are Freshmen or Sophomore’s, even in a rotation, you might play 5-6 in a season. Last season we didn’t even play close to that many.

We have 12 more recruiting classes to figure that out. We have zero recruiting classes to figure out the DT position for 2024. Can’t start a true freshman and expect to win the SEC. We need to recruit better and not have to always worry about transfers. We won’t get lucky every time.

LSU has one of the best defensive tackle duos in the nation in Maason and Wigo, then have big Tank Guilliory and JJ as the two deep.

Aren't transfers more of a sure thing than relying on high school prospects for the most part. I don't see a problem with filling needs with transfers. We have several transfers who are starters on the team.

Guillory will be a starter, and maybe they can bulk Wiggins up to 300 to play inside. If not it would have to be one of the other 3 or transfer portal. I still think Wiggins will be moved inside though. I think Jaxon Howard starts a DE when Jones dominates this year and heads to the NFL.

I mean can we honestly count on Maason at this point? I feel bad for the kid. But I doubt he plays the whole season hell he probably won’t even start the FSU game.

Also, we've had the problem of not maintaining a damn DL coach for more than a year.
