but we’ll lose to Bama and then either Arkansas, Florida, or A&M. Each of those 3 is on the road, so I say we drop one of them
If we lose to Arkansas, Florida, or A&M this year there is no hope that O will ever have us as a true contender because all three of those teams are going to get much better very quickly under their new coaches.
If Jimbo snaps our streak over A&M in year 1

God that fanbase will be insufferable when they do finally beat us. And that alone would deserve a pink slip.

9-3...but one of the 9 is Bama.

Auburn in 08 was terrible, they fired Tuberville that year.
Troy was grossly underrated last year. That Troy team was, IMHO, better than 8 of the 9 teams LSU beat in 2017.
LSU had a problem with Arkansas under Miles. I think it had something to do with scheduling. Arkansas would often follow a big game vs a bruising opponent (such as Alabama or Ole Miss) and Miles wouldn't have them ready.
The odd game out was LSU v. Florida 2003. There was no reasonable explanation for that loss; LSU was playing at home, had a BYE week advantage, was a far better team than Florida, and had the greatest coach in college football history. Florida not only beat LSU, but beat them soundly.

Auburn is a much better team in Cliff Hare than on the road, but I'm not impressed with Malzahn. In fact, he may be a worse coach than Orgeron (is that possible)?

Given that we are loaded with talent and depth everywhere but defensive back, per the coaches, and this is the best conditioned team moffitt has ever coached, per him, i expect that we will win 10-11 games. Only losses that would be understandable would be bama or Georgia.

Unless lsu has tons of injuries and suspensions, like state and Troy, then they ain't lising to tech. People rag on Troy...didn't Clemson have to score late to beat them in 2016, the year Clemson won the NC? shite happens.

I know one thing, I'm throwing $500 on over 7 for lsu...that's a fact...I LOVE that bet if I can still get it.

I think LSU sweeps the state of Alabama this year

Clemson did pull out a 4tg quarter win in 2016 against Troy...but I wonder if their fans acted like you guys thinking Troy is some Jackson state type team. They nearly beat the national championship in 2016

If we start 5-0, I think 10-2 is likely.
Alabama is almost certain (as it is for everyone else); and I think one of Fla and A&M gets us.
I think Florida is going to be a LOT tougher for us than people seem to believe.

I think we’ll be 6-0 when UGA rolls into Death Valley Oct. 13th. The only game in that stretch that should be close is Auburn.

Was in Pensacola a couple weeks ago. Loved it.
I'm with you. I have no reason to think our coaches and strength coach are pumping propaganda. They're confident and I'm getting my hopes up. I think we win 10 games

Lmao. You are a joke. I'm guessing your IQ is in the 60-70 range.

I was at that game in 03...even their fans gave themselves no chance. Very bad loss for saban. It happens. Agreed on troy. Lsu was without MANY starters on defense, and they ran all over aranda's backups. Lsu wins that one going away if healthy and players not suspended. But yes troy isn't terrible like many make them out to be. Ask Clemson.

Not conceding to bama. Too many close ones in BR lately.

I truly think this team could be special...and if burrow lives up watch out. Negative bs is for losers....in every aspect of life. Surround yourself with optimistic, positive people...I can guarantee you that the positigers on this site are significantly more successful than the negatigers...and it ain't close.

Florida is still not that good. They have real problems on offense, and no QB comparable to LSU's embarrassing riches (although inexperienced) at that position.
Mullen, while better than McElwain is overrated as a head coach. The only advantage I see for Florida v. LSU is drawing them at home 2 years in a row. Remember what the great Cholly Mac said after a shocking 0-14 defeat by Tulane in 1973, in a feeble attempt to offer an explanation: "We have just been playing them on the ROAD too much".
