i think we may open it up, and run the option to the wide side of the field

This. Les thinks its 1966 and he's coaching in the Big 10.

I wish there were an ignore function within threads that I could simply not look at anything this guy has to say.

After the one thread I saw this dillhole start and/participate in, I have no use for any statistics this guy puts up, as he can't add, & can't be trusted from a metric standpoint.

Basically a useless area of pixels when you scroll by this guy's contributions.

Whatever it is, I hope it's just one thing

I will lose my fricking mind if we try running 2 separate offenses with 2 separate QBs. If mett is the QB, then run the offense that suits him. If it's someone else, then run the offense that suits them better.

I can't deal with anymore mashed up, half arse, QB rotating, bullshite offense

You're going to see a conventional pro-style with less 22 personnel.

(22 personnel: 2 backs, 2 TE's. Some may call it "jumbo" or "run heavy' sets)

You're going to see more 21 & 31.

(21 personnel: 2 receivers 1 back + TE; 31 personnel: 3 receivers 1 back + TE, etc)

LSU liked covering the tackles to define the running lanes last year to get us a great push, especially when we pulled lineman to get to the B Gap or C Gaps. We also didn't have a whole heckuva lot of faith (in JJ especially) in the QB being able to do much with the ball in the air.

This year, we'll be more creative with the pass, & that's going to open up the run. We don't even have to rely on PA (play action), either. I think the credible pass threat and a QB who can read hot and pick up pre-snap pressure will preclude the need to go max-protect, which makes our protection checks & blocking schemes easier.

It also negates a pass rush, again taking the heat off the line, & also allows for more receivers in the routes, which also puts pressure on a defense.

In short, it keeps defenses from loading the box, which our talent on OL still destroyed people with last year. When they're running more Nickel & their safeties can't crowd the line and they can't park 8+ men in the box because of our credible pass threat, then the running game becomes more effective, even without the extra blockers.

I think regardless of what folks think, we throw it 25-27 times/game in 2012, & we don't miss a beat with personnel changes that take blockers out of the game and insert recievers in with respect to running the ball out of those same looks.

From the passing standpoint, I think you'll see stats like:

14-19 185 yards 2 TD's

Not flashy, but efficient

Also, I think the run game will thrive like it did with lee at qb because the defense will have to respect the pass. Bama was able to pin their ears back with JJ.

If Mett averages 25 attempts at the end of the year, I'll dedicate a thread to Choctaws brilliance and intelligence.

If he doesn't, what will you do?

I don't know bout betting anything, but Mett could.

JR and MF averaged over 25 a game in back to back yrs and back to back BCS bowl game wins.

believe it or not.....the last 2 years were the only years under Les Miles that a QB averaged less than 24 attempts per game.......yes, even 2008 and 2009.

Flynn averaged about 30 and went over 40 in a few games.

Mett will average atleast 25.

Run and throw.

We're not going to punt this year and then everyone is going to bitch about how Miles is misusing Brad Wing.

Because we won't have to. Easier schedule. Dominant Defense. Everyone's assuming that it's 2005 all over, but things are changed. Les won't "open it up" if he doesn't have to. 22 attempts/game absolute tops. FACT.
