Agreed 100%

The game, however, was out of hand at halftime with Jarrett Lee leading the offense. Once Jefferson was given the keys, LSU scored 14 against WKU, and fell behind 14-0 and 10-0 to Arky and Georgia - we were fortunate special teams and defense were on another level to make it as far as we did.

I am very excited to see what we can do with an offense that was run the first 8 games of the year.

Again, it was Miles 4th (and last yr) at Okla St. He had time to find someone.

Saban was well into his tenure here and had some issues with QB recruiting. Mauck leaving caught him off guard in 04. stuff happens. maybe it shouldn't, but it does.

The starting QB at OSU in 2004 was eventually switched to the defensive side of the ball. WTF?

he also set the OSU freshman TD record as a QB. sounds like OSU made the best out of a bad QB situation, and the Woods kid made the best out of his abilities (he made it to the NFL on D).

That is all on Miles. He wants an athlete that he can use at QB, not a true throwing QB. IMHO

I think he wants the best QB he can get. if that guy has some mobility, great.

and I think you just wanna bitch, honestly.

I'm not sure why he thought Jefferson was good enough to scheme an entire offense around. His passing ability was mediocre, he wasn't a great runner, there was really no reason to take carries away from our very talented RBs, and give to Jefferson

But other than those few minor flaws, he was worthy of starting at QB for the #1 team in the country, right? I mean, I've seen spreadsheets that prove his awesomeness and everything.

Short passing game, still run about 60% of the time.

I believe that Les will open it up next year. He finally has legit pocket passer since Flynn. I believe that this will be a big year for LES considering everyone looks at us as if we cant develop a QB and dont extend the field. I think we will throw the ball deep and stretch the field this year when it is available so that we can continue to recruit and sign great athletes!! IMO this is a big year to show this

Hopefully balance... True balance

And by "true balance" I mean being effective in both the passing and running game. Not just throwing and running 50% each.

I agree true balance is not just based on percentages. It has to do with catching defenses off guard. Throwing when they expect you to run and running when they expect you to pass!

Awesome. We now have 4 QB's on our roster, two pure dropback passers (cough, cough JL) and two dual threat QB's (cough, cough, JJ). We were even able to preserve the racial divide so that those who insisted on playing that card for the past 3 years don't have to put their deck down. Who said all that was going to end on January 10?

So, what is our offensive identity, given how different these two sets of QB's are?

Randall has the best arm on the team so Sayeth the players

Liggins is a 290lb project qb that might get a couple of snaps this season as a goal line option.

Right after Mett marches them down the field
