Incredible job overall by the defense in preventing blown coverages.

I never saw a good replay of this lone one. Anybody know?

Freshman mistake.

Pickett had the back wide in man coverage. However both he and Cooley covered the TE that ran to the flat when Lagway rolled left, allowing the back to get behind everyone.

Luckily the holding penalty wiped out the TD.

Not really sure what went wrong, but replay made it very clear that if they didnt hold on that play it was going to be a sack.

They tackled the edge rusher. It was as blatant as holding gets.

Thanks so much. It really is a testament to the coaches and players how few mental mistakes the defense has made....AND they are mostly new to each other. They will only get better.

OL holding. Two holds on the play. Each tackled one of our DL.

Exactly, had he not held our guy Lagway would not have been able to make that throw. So actually was a good hold - saved them a down as yardage lost would have been roughly the same.

I don't think that is a given. Lagway is a strong, elusive, dude. Guillory ain't exactly quick. The hold occurred as Lagway was already starting to roll out of the pocket. He likely gets away from Guillory. Now, does that added bit of pressure keep him from seeing the RB behind everyone? Maybe. But, while a good call, I don't think it's a sack without the hold given Lagway's proven ability to escape pressure.

I mean I hear you, but they were holding two of our guys were held so I gotta think one of them finishes him off or at least flushes him to a position where he runs or doesn't see the guy.
