just another part of that clown arse gimmicky circus style of baseball the west coast teams play....look the ncaa created new rules and stipulations just so they could get into the cws..I would rather watch my grass grow than sit through 9 innings of ucla vs Pepperdine baseball...

Play didn't bother me. But LSU (FOster) didn't bite at all.. which was pretty awesome.

I really hope we face UCLA again.

Because of an umpire that wasn't paying attention. If he was, he would've realized it wasn't actually an out.

Not Bush League, just chicken shite. Smart to try it because their "awesome closer" was pitching like hot garbage. (Still can't believe the only double play of the game gets turned right there on a 2-0 pitch... come on Raph!).

You had a force out at three bags with two down. It's not like the winning one was sitting on third and a sac fly scores him. If anything it was admitting that you were scared the best closer in the country couldn't get one more out. I am very surprised the baseball gods didn't smite them for it, especially on a 3-2 count where everyone was running. Hopefully we can pay them back in a couple of rounds.

Entire Tiger Nation was hoping for Jaco to repeat the blast off the scoreboard and end it.

Errors and extremely poor decisions at the plate (swinging at balls, not strikes) beat us. Won't even discuss the Raph DP---that one is on CPM.

Move on and beat UNC.

When's the last time LSU did something like that? I have all night.

I can't remember when...but Skip did it way back when with the ole first baseman keeps the ball, runner takes the lead...first baseman tags him out.

Some of you must hate having smart players making smart plays. Like inbounding the ball off of a player's back in basketball. Fake punts in football et al

I really don't get the people calling it bush league.

Because it was bush league. That's something that happens in a women's softball game or in bronco league. That doesnt happen in the 9th inning of the CWS. It's chickenshit. You beat the other team, you dont try and trick the other team.

And none of that has anything to do with baseball. There's a different type of gamesmanship in baseball than there is in football and basketball.

Yes, Im sure CPM told him to roll over on an outside fastball. "Son, w/e you do in this at bat, you better not hit the ball where it's pitched!"...

Have never even seen it pulled in a Women's college softball game. It's a little league play.

I watched LSU try this exact play when Skip was there. The runner started for third, but tripped over his own feet and dove back into second.
The LSU centerfielder dropped a crushed styrofoam cup onto the grass just prior to the play.

Have zero problems with the call. I thought it was a great call by UCLA's coach. Last night I felt I was watching the Super Regional from a couple years ago when we played at UCLA. Looks like Mainieri learned absolutely zero from that trip.

We ran this play every so often in High School. It was called "Miami" because they ran this play in the CWS back in the day.

Me too. Sure fooled the hell out of me. I knew something wasn't right when the pitcher began sprinting to 3B. I just knew Foster was gonna start for 3B
