Well....even when I was 22 I hated places like that. I used to hang out mostly at the Bayou when I was at LSU. I hated Murphy's, Fred's, Sports Ill. etc. Which tells you I'm old and into more of an alternative scene.

I would just tell everyone to watch the new Dallas reality show, Dallas Most Eligible. These type of people are 90% of the uptown crowd. It's more of a post collegiate frat douche.

Divorced w/ a gf. Go out most every weekend....yes, listen to rock and go see a lot of local bands. Drink craft beer.

But I stated it was a more low key place. And I stated most people from out of town should go to uptown. But not everybody is 22 years old.

This may have already been mentioned but I didn't read all 5 pages, but is the Dallas LSU Alumni group planning on doing anything? When I went to the Vandy game last year that crew packed one of the bars and it was a good time.

While I endorse most of what Dallas Tiger has said, there are plenty of good Uptown bars that don't make you want to kill everyone inside. He's right that Sfuzzi and Lemon are horrible places, but there will be SMU sorority chicks to pick up... so if you're a fratboy under the age 25... well, knock yourself out.

If you're not a child, Uptown still has some good places to hang out. the Uptown Pub (not be confused with Uptown Bar and Grill) has a great patio. Christie's and Frankie's are good sports bar, particularly Frankie's. The Idle Rich has great Egnlish beer and strangely becomes a booty bar at about 11 PM, resulting in one of the more bizarre scenes. the Gingerman serves only beer and is a great hangout. Primo's is a good hangout Mexican place as well.

DT... you going to see the Truckers?

Its a horrible show and a bad persona on dallas, haha....seen it once and that was enough and most the their scenes were in plano or las colinas...

I will say I am biased since my friends are bartenders at those places and my tabs are pretty much free.....

Uptown has a little something for everyone if you think about it......

I didnt think about it but even a older crowd goes to Londoner, TABC, Noddling donkey and those are all up uptown.....but I will say lemon, trophy, etc are all a little more trendy

Pretty decent place. Same people that own Old Monk I think. And the place across the street is ok too.

I'm not a fan of the truckers. The opening band, Centro-matic, is one of my favorite local bands. They should be much bigger than they are. Centro-matics singer, Will Johnson, is the drummer for Monsters of Folk. If people I know want to go to the show, I'd tag along.

Convinced me. Where are we hanging tonight.

Not sure about that. They do have one of the biggest. The clubhouse.

I liked the more laid back atmos of Portland's strip bars. And the girls, for the most part, weren't made of silicone and plastic.....you know, like Uptown girls.

If you're in to history, Dealy Plaza and the Kennedy Assassination museum is pretty cool.

It's been awhile since I've been to Dallas. Lots of places have live music.
