DIBS was our primary watch party location but they closed

It’s closed now? Damn, I move to Ft Worth for 4 months and things start closing.

Yep, they got into a dispute or something with their landlord and shut the place down. Sucks because we loved going there. They offered us Ferris Wheelers which is another one of their restaurants but it is all outdoors, so we moved over to Lakewood

I’ve been there a bunch of times. Is the whole place rented for game days or just a certain section?

The place in the video looks cool. Seems like a cool place to watch a game.
Have you volunteered any of your time to the group? If you want to see things change getting involved with the group is the quickest way.

We have the whole place devoted to LSU. The Lakewood location is brand new, the one on McKinney in Uptown is the Alabama bar.

The Houston LSU watch parties are lit as frick.

What’s funny is Dodies still does LSU watch parties and they are infinitely more fun than the one the Alumni Association does, and they are actually in Dallas, what a concept!
After living in another major American city with an alumni chapter, it was usually more fun to do your own thing and watch games at the bar that is there to provide as good a Louisiana atmosphere as possible.

Nice I’ll check it out

I'll be on the lookout for you. The GM at Blackfriar texted me yesterday saying that the LSU flags they ordered are in

I second this. Not sure how I feel about the recent move to Drift.

Sweet! We’ll check out Blackfriar this season then!

Should be a good time! I've been over there a few times and it is great.
Also, they have offered to do a special cocktail for us so if any of you have any suggestions let me know

I'm on the fence. When the weather is nice Drift is great, but those early games are going to be hot as balls. At Woodrow's there was tons of indoor space.

I’m sure Woodrow’s will still pop off. I live a few blocks from there so I’ll be around there some anyways.

Thank you for working on this, by the way. Selfishly, the Lakewood location is great for me. Still a little off the beaten path for the younger new grads who are going to be out on Greenville and Henderson Ave, but I live in Lakewood now a I'm happy. Plus Black Friar used to be our favorite bar uptown (after Renfields closed RIP) so I'm excited to still give them business.
My suggestion is to have them offer discounted buckets of beer/seltzers. Our only gripe with Dib's is they only had High Noons and they were like $7 a piece and no discount for ordering a bucket so we were spending so much money. It made us only go there for the big games and go to Stan's Blue Note for the other ones.
ETA: Okay just checked the address and it's not too far away from Lower Greenville at all. Great location choice.

The location in Lakewood is slightly off the beaten path but gaining traction every day. Uptown isn't what it used to be and is getting worse. I lived in State Thomas for 3 years before moving to HP. Nowhere on Lower Greenville is big enough/would be exclusive just to us.
Definitely hear you on the drink specials from DIBS, we're looking forward to having some great specials and turnout this season!
