Hey, now...one bad season and all of a sudden Les Miles isn't a good coach. Nick Saban went 7-6 -- that's worse than 8-5, rantards -- before going 12-2 last year at Alabama. One bad season a bad coach does not make.
My biggest fear is injuries to the quarterback position. I feel like Lee and Jefferson are both competent, and perhaps Shepard and Garrett will learn the playbook quickly...but the main thing that did LSU in besides the defense last year was inconsistency at quarterback. That's no knock on specific players, but rather to the fact that LSU started all of its scholarship quarterbacks for at least 20% of the season apiece. That's just too inconsistent to expect a strong result.
I feel confident in LSU's chances next year with Jefferson, Lee, Scott, Williams, LaFell, Toliver, and Black all back on offense and Alexander, Alem, Woods, Baker, Sheppard, Petersen, and Jones back on defense...but injuries to quarterback will undeniably cause the inconsistencies that lead to defeat.
Also, I'm a mite concerned as to how the kicking game will pan out. David was worth so much to this team as a mop-up XP kicker and a near-automatic 3 from 40-45 yards last year, and not to knock the replacements, but I don't even know the names of all the kickers that could step up and replace David. >_>

Urban Meyera hasn't won in Baton Rouge. The 1990's "Fear of Florida" bullshite is dead. Miles won't forget last year.
Funny, he was telling LSU fans to call him, motioning & mugging for the camera...then this happened.

You guys won't quit with this shite until Les Miles is gone. Then what? Who are you going to doubt next? Are you going to start having doubts about the AD because he fired Miles? As for Saban, he won his title with Dinardo's players. No one ever references that when they talk about 2003.

People leaving early...
Profanity from the student section...
Censorship of the GBFTL.
Day games in September...
What else do we continually complain about every single year?

The gumps being correct about our coach.
The gumps being correct about what? The gumps are idiots.

This will be the first year that we truly get a read on the over-all capabilities of Les Miles.
We've already got a "read" on that. He is a NC coach. Enough said. Mark Richt, considered by many to be a better coach than Miles, and one of the best in the country has exactly 0 NC's.

but I would hate even more if the gumps ended up better than us from this whole coaching ordeal.
I'm not sure what you mean by better. If you mean the gumps dominating LSU, and the SEC, then I'd be inclined to think you're insane. If you mean pulling pretty much even, as was Auburn the past several years, and winning a game here and losing a game there, I'd say that would be spot on.

I've been singing the praises of Les Miles for 3 years now, I hope he doesn't disappoint.
I think he proved this offseason that won't be the case. He proved that he realizes how important it is for LSU to be a power in the SEC and the Nation on a yearly basis. He went out and made the necessary adjustments/hires to remedy the problems with the team. Its tough to stay on top every year, and impossible to do so forever, but Miles has the ship pointed in the right direction, and I believe he will prove to be a damn fine captain.

They need to be concerned about their own coach...He got exposed by Utah in the Sugar Bowl...Les looked pretty good in his bowl...
what about the troy, ole miss and Arkansas games for les?

The gumps being correct about our coach. I think he's a great game-time coach, but we have yet to see if he can assemble a team.
