What possible explanation for the soft zone defense?

Continuing to get burned, we go back to the soft no pressure zone defense. How in the world could any decent coordinator continue to do this? Am I missing something?
Proud of the team for showing grit and coming back, but not going away from the soft defense killed this team early. I am not hopeful any press member will ask Lane about it Monday.

Trying to stop from Chambliss from scrambling. Baker always seems to go from 1 extreme to the other and we do a real poor job of disguising what we are doing.

Baker is not a good game schemer and lacks situational intelligence. He also doesn’t know how to utilize personnel against a mobile quarterback which makes him obsolete in today’s game.

I think he had faith his line could get pressure and we could sit back in zone and keep things in front of us. Also don’t think he expected the offense to only put up 7 points in the first half. Could have been a solid game plan to switch everything up at half and catch ole Miss off guard but you gotta make a change as soon as you see it’s not working and the offense is struggling.

Baker is a god but not an elite DC and he has difficulty scheming against dual threat QBs. The end. It's been a recurrent problem for years.
