Is seeing Auburn’s current basketball success. Even the year we won the SEC they still outshined us. It’s like if all of a sudden Ole Miss football was number 1 in the country and fielded a badass team.

And how Jabari Smiths son didn’t pick LSU is brutal, especially for long time basketball supporters where that sweet 16 team was a high point for the program

They had a shite season last year so if we were then we would have wanted Pearl fired.

that was the biggest miss by WW/LSU
Having him instead of Reid would mean a tremendous amount to the success of LSU, even with the rest of the team.

Conveniently leaving out his final four run in 2019? You really want to compare Will Wade's resume to Bruce Pearl's?

Pearl has been shining at Auburn, if it were LSU he was doing this at I don't think they would have fired him for last season.

I’m not conveniently leaving shite out.

We ignore all prior success as soon as things get bad.

Yes, that's what I meant by him shining at Auburn. He really should have won the title with that 2019 team, they could shoot the lights out that team there. Smh Lol

I don't think we ignore prior success. Although some of us have a much different definition of success. We just expect more. Especially with 4 top 10 recruiting classes.

The losses don't bother me nearly as bad as the execution and, more than anything, lack of player development.

Too many think he is elite but he's done absolutely nothing to earn such adoration.

He had a losing season.

This board doesn’t care about anything else right!

I mean Did you see how quickly he turned our roster around?

We were a trash team when he arrived and he had us in the NIT year 1 and the sweet 16 year 2.

He’s never lost in the first round. He did an insane job even getting this team to the point where it could fall apart after losing Smart, Thomas and Waters.

He’s also young. None of the coaches you want have a better resume at 39

It’s just all recency bias and short sightedness.

People always say “he just recruits he can’t coach”

We saw what that actually looks like when we had multiple NBA players on a team that missed the tournament.

How about having the most SEC wins and 4 out of 5 years with 20+ wins out of the last 5 years? I’d say so.

Probably has more to do with coaching a kid up to improve his stock at the next level which LSU doesn't seem to do and his family lives in Alabama.

The mf just went to final four, and they may be the best team in the country currently. Please don't compare Wade to Pearl.

He absolutely recruits very well, and absolutely can't coach it.

Brad Stevens took Butler to 3 Sweet 16s and a Final Four in his first 7 years...he was 30 when he got the job.

Elite coaches win in March.

This is a fair comparison. After all, LSU fired John Brady less than 2 years after his Final Four run.
