I feel like everyone I know went to LSU and we all go to the games.

I'm thankful and proud that people from other universities support the state's flagship in athletics. No matter how hard I try, can't find a single fault with this.

Yep just a team they like. No possible way they could have grown up a fan and been a fan for 20, 30, 40+ years.

I have donated to both the academic and athletic sides of LSU. My dad went to law school there and raised us as LSU and saints fans proud of Louisiana.

I grew up a fan of LSU, but also have an interest in the academic side because that's the flagship of my home state and I want it to be the best it can be.

But I'm not a real fan because I chose to pursue a degree not offered by LSU.

One of the many stupid things I have ever read on here.

Grew up listening to LSU football as a little boy on the radio in the 70's and have followed them close to the vest ever since. Served in the military and being from Louisiana I was associated with everything LSU by all my fellow comrades from all over the country I served with. We ribbed each other on how "our" school was doing in every sport.

I would gladly challenge you to your knowledge of football any day at any time!

LSU doesn't represent just LSU alumni, it represents Louisiana the state and all the people who was born here and was raised here.

Me and my 3 buddies have 4 season tickets. Out of the 4 of us, I'm the only LSU alum. So out of my small sample size, I'd say 25%

You people are stupid. To be eligible for the LSU Alumni Association, you have to actually have a DEGREE.

Attending one year and then hightailing it to Nicholls does not make you an alumnus.

By the definition of the word, it does.

By the qualifications of the LSU alumni association, it does not.

For most Colleges and Universities ...
Alumni = Graduates even though not in the purest of definitions .. but that has changed over the years.
It used to also imply MALE, which does not anymore either

ok I get what you're saying and yea there are a lot of non-alumni fans who have a great personal connection to it, and it's clear you are one of em. I know it means more to someone like you than the average sidewalk fan. But can you not agree there's something about having gone to a place for four years...having living on the campus, studied in the classroom and had the numerous experiences a students has with this place that make alumni more connected.

BTW serious kudos to you for donating to the academic side

Why does it matter? What percentage of any major college football program's stadium do you think is alumni?

I have no idea. That's why I'm asking.

If they are different demographics, then this should be taken into account in marketing.

Do you think there are different buying habits between alumni and non-alumni?

better question is what percentage of tickets are purchased by alumni, regardless of whose arse is in the seat?
