So removing the SFP negativity handicap, we have a good to very good defense.

I'll take it.

He also went for it on 4th and 2, and got stuffed.

Was that conservative?

Was running TT 17 times "protecting his QB"?

Slow, he punted because Tebow was stopped 2 times on 2nd down and 3rd down an inches respectively. Watch you replay. They did not play conservatively. Florida tried using their misdirection plays and they are know for running the ball with both Demps and Rainey. Face it, LSU hurt themselves in this game with penalties. There were a number of times Tebow had success throwing the ball then when he tried to throw one in the endzone, it was picked off by Jai Eugene. That isn't conservative. The defense did a great job last night!

shoulder hits aren't a big deal

but it wasn't physical

he protected tebow from having to THINK on the field. simple gameplan, simple plays. low risks

We'll get another chance at Florida and hopefully this time we won't hand them the game.

Yup, we will play them next year...I seriously hope you aren't saying that we will play them again this year...If you really believe we will beat BAMA the way we are playing right now I want one of whatever you got.

I think most of these ranters need to watch the game again Luke, lol. They will never give the LSU defense any credit. Bring on Bama! Oh wait, what happens if we hold them to the same number? That's right once again Bama's offense will be vanilla. Also, so early in the season you can't go off of Stats such as 40th in the nation. We only played half of the season. Wait until the end and you will see that the LSU defense will be one of the best in the SEC if not the nation!

Between you and Les Miles, I don't know who is more stubborn and arrogant.

That being said, think what you want to think... incorrect or not.

There's no purpose is wasting more of my time trying to argue with you knowing that you won't be convinced b/c it would mean having to admit you may be wrong, which you are incapable of.

A sure sign of immaturity.

Exactly.

It's nothing but spin to suit an agenda.

I might share the agenda with some of these folks, but their approach is deplorable IMO.

The defense did play well but against a very vamilla Florida offense. Meyer was keeping TT away from serious contact as much as he could.

yea, that's why tebow ran the ball 17 times. Good observation.

Yeah, just like the play he called on 2nd and 7 on our 31 yd. line when Hawkins came up with the pick...That was a very simple, low risk play when you are up by 10 with 2:45 left in the game

Get outta here SFP

Didn't Meyer state that his offense last night was conservative?

________________________________________________

He said "somewhat" conservative. I call BS! Myers is a style point guy. 4 and 2 and he ran a reverse. That is not conservative.

Their passing game is not going to be strong against good defenses.

Why would he do anything else when they were running the ball so well?

Props to the D! Bend but didn't break. Other than Bama, no one holds them to 13 points this year. And even they might not.

I agree Honda. However, that pick was from Jai Eugene. Either way, that isn't being conservative. Last night, if we could have had a decent offensive ouput and limited our penalties we could have won this game. However, the referees didn't really help us any, but they were sure to help Florida big time.

Bull shite CUM has never played this way.

He OBVIOUSLy played that way against Tennessee because there offense couldn't move the ball.

He did the exact same thing, played very conservative against us for the same reason.

What about punting when they had 4th and inches??? I think that pretty much proves your theory wrong right there.

He did but I don't call BS...I think the truth is somewhere in between. Don't get me wrong, the D played much, much better last night though I think UF almost got 200 yds on the ground. UF O did seem somewhat held back to me and Tebow looked tentative.

oh, well I thought it was Hawkins...we were at the bottom of the student section, so I couldn't see what number came down with the interception, and we were jumping around after so didn't see the replay. Anyway, I just thought it was definitely not a conservative call. He was def trying to get another TD so the game wouldn't look so close, and it wouldn't look like our D dominated the way they did...

Should have been a much closer game...their TD right before the half ended should have been Offensive pass interference or something...Hawkins almost needed a new jersey after that play. And, Livingston's face mask really killed us. However, the D put us in the position to win. They did all they could.

So it's ok to allow 200 yds rushing in a game?

that was late in the game, and he had already gone for it once without converting. Not to mention the fact that they came out first, and tried to draw us offsides...if he was playing conservatively, they would have just brought the punt team out immediately, but instead he tried to draw us off

I think you all are not giving the SEC any credit at all. Sure, Florida blew all those other team out like Charleston and so forth. However, they played against Tennessee and didn't blow them out. They played against LSU and this defense held them to their lowest output since what 2004? I think that this Florida offense is really missing Harvin and Co. He was an all-purpose player who you had to account for on every play, not to mention Tebow. This year you only have to play the run mostly and don't have to account for Percy any longer. Props to LSU defense!!!
