The one loss that stuck with me Longest is LSU vs Rice 1957 Season Opener. It was the homecoming game in my last year at LSU and they were raising hell and we had all the hoopla that went with that. That was 63 years ago. We had an amazing team and jumped out on top of Rice 14-0 at the half. Shudda been a blow out that game. Chuckles Turner let his Baws down that day. With this stinking Covid-19 today, strangest damned coincidence but we all had the Asian Flu. we shudda listened to Gen MacAuther n’ nuked em in ‘52. Crazy Chinese mofos eating bats over there n sending their China Massage whores over here to spread it
Rice came back and beat us 20-14 when we ran out of gas. Baws were passing out due to heat exhaustion. couldn’t go down the field all the way for six. I still remember the hits and how hard it was to get up.
I’ve always believed that if it weren’t for that loss to Rice, we might have gone undefeated like 1958 and almost 1959 (1 Loss) and won three consecutive national championships, something no one has ever done.
beat hell out of Bama 28-0 the very next game.
watched in the stands as my old teammates with Rabb at QB kicked the crap outta Bama in 1958 to make it two in a row, the same way we’re gonna kick their @$$es in 2019 and 2020 back to back. We beat Texas Tech, Ga Tech, and shut out Kentucky to hit the Top 10 and we were rising getting the press. Then bad breaks cost us 4 close losses in a row. Losing that first one to Rice really took us out the hunt. teammates said there’s nothing to forgive, but I’ve never forgiven myself for that game. Just 1 good pass could have saved us. One pick from that game still haunts me. Most of my teammates from that era are long gone. Billy just recently passed right when Joe came to LSU. But I lived long enough to watch the greatest team in History and the greatest pair of QBs, that’s Joe and Myles, that anyone has ever had. When Myles B rocks your world you can’t say Chuckles Turner didn’t tell you first.
Would you dare dream that these Tigers can take three titles in a row. It’s never been done before.
Added: I believe it can happen.

2012 Alabama
I was there. Classic example of playing not to lose. That stupid penalty at the goal line. UGH. 4th and Chavis its finest.

Probably the Indiana regional final in '87.
Maddest I have ever been walking out of a sporting event. I am convinced the refs jobbed us that night.
The next game would have been the Final Four in the Dome.

2012 Alabama, TJ Yeldon screen pass to lose. Was so close to some relief of the 21-0 thrashing... Instead we had to wait all the way until 2019.
Ended up being worth the wait I suppose. RTWFU

Ole Miss, back when Archie Manning brought them back from defeat, two years straight in the fourth quarter, to beat us.
Dang you Cholly Mac.
The loss to Tenn in Knoxville in 1967.
I stopped by Kingsport, on my way back to the Newport News Shipyard to visit some young ladies. Met my future wife. Turned defeat into a lifetime victory.

2011 Natty. No brainer. However, I must share this story about walking out of Lambeau (2nd worst loss after flying that morning to Chicago, then Milwaukee, then renting a car to arrive just in time for kickoff to watch that offensive fiasco!?). So, we're walking out of the stadium while Badger fans are heckling us, and an older Cajun gentleman said, "ya know, Les Miles is like a gourmet chef. He gathers the finest ingredients in the land to prepare a dish that all will love and remember....... Then he burns the damn meal every time!" I should've asked him his name to give him credit for the funniest and most accurate quote only true LSU fans could appreciate.

That's a big one.
For me it's 07 Arkansas & McFadden. I was 13 when we won in 03 which turned me into a diehard. Me and my pops were at the arky game on the brink of another championship and that game happened. I just KNEW the season was over. Neither of us said a word the entire walk back to the tailgate. It was also the first time I got hammered around him. It was definitely a bonding experience for us

The 2007 Kentucky game. I know that Kentucky was ranked at the time and it was on the road, but as the #1 team, that's a game you should win going away. Charles Scott was ON FIRE during the first half with 2 TDs and averaged 13 yards per carry. Kentucky had no answer for him.
For reasons completely unknown, Miles practically benched Scott in the second half. Sure enough, Kentucky ties the game, forces OT and you know the rest
I truly think Miles enjoyed making games closer than they needed to be. It's almost as if blowouts bored him. If he didn't have all of his quirks/soundbites, the fan base's patience would've run out 4-5 years earlier. It's nice to see comfortable wins again.

Of course Bama 2012 is tops. But man that Wisconsin loss at Lambeau field was an utter embarrassment and still stings when I have to listen to Big10 folks talk about how great they are. We should have demolished them...

I was the most disappointed after the Florida loss in ‘03 despite how the season ended. We were ranked 5th and I went to the game with my mom and her fiancée. Had awesome tickets. Skyler runs it in and I’m like shite yeah we’re gonna roll. Wasn’t meant to be. The thing that stuck with me as a pre teen was watching the Florida team party with their band on our goddamn field after the game. I’ve hated Florida with an undying passion since that day. frick em. frick em right in the ear.
1/9/12 also, but the loss in the regular season of 2012 where Yeldon ripped our hearts out stung. Troy loss was just plain embarrassing, but I knew either O was gonna get canned or tighten up and never allow anything like that to ever happen again.
