as much as people bitch about the west side, I find it interesting how few people bitch about the east side...you know the side thats actually more visibile in campus shots. shits ugly

The new cage should have incorporated the old cage and the great classic artwork that was on it (frescos)

It could have been an observation point and you could have walked into the old renovated cage and truly appreciated the new cage because the old cage was tiny. Instead the brain dead and totally uncreative TAF just bulldozed it. They could have moved it to the south stadium lawn, done a number of things but they didn't give a shite nor did the new orleans firm that designed if. Many people complained and others assumed it would be apart of the new design until one day it was gone and that drab arse uncreative cage was built.

You ever notice why mike is always in one of two spaces? Because the jackasses that designed it didn't plan that he might like the fricking shade like any living being would on 100 degree heat! Luckily for us those two locations are by the front wall so we get to see him.

The glass leaks water. Always has.

The mural that was on the original cage could have been reproduced on the new cage as a frieze along the top pediment but no one thought enough to make the new cage carry over the classic design. It is a greatly needed improvement that is more like going to a double wide than an upgrade. Upgrades have merit, all we got was a big leaky poorly designed habitat.

I could go on but most of you would put vinyl siding on the capitol if you had the choice and I don't expect you to either see the opportunity that was lost or givashit.

He'll most of you didn't even see the shite-pipe. Ignorance is bliss bydammit.

I'm not asking for a fricking 2008 Beijing Olympic Stadium type deal, but the recent stuff as just been awful.


1) The Welcome to Death Valley sig in TS is gone
2) The 30's era art deco parts of Mike's ole habitat is now ground up into dust
3) The outside of TS looks like a big version of some Cy-Fair school district stadium with exposed sewage line

The weather vane on top of the old cage was a punter

We got a metal flag on a faux tower in it's place

fricking unbelievable in it's lack of continuity, approach and creativity. No the tiger habitat is a big piece of ill designed crap that should have been world class but when you have classless people in charge you get mediocrity in return.

There's a reason why Disney attracts so many visitors- it's attention to detail. While lsu is no Disneyland, that kind of superb design approach is what the supporters deserve. Not the rinky dink crap we received. Big isn't better. Better is better.

One last note:
Bring a bolt cutter and after you cut the two locks on the side of the cage roscoe /'mike will be free. You call that security? Some design huh?

TAF is to good design what the anti Christ is to God. Unacceptable. Other than that they're ok.
