Not necessarily saying they come and go all the time. I am saying, however, that a new rivalry can come about that has not been around for 100+ years. Again, I'm not saying Bama is LSUs biggest rival and that LSU is Bamas biggest rival, but I do think there is a bit of a natural rivalry that is formed when two teams, that are as competitive as LSU and Bama are, play each other every year and most of the time (in recent history) with national implications on the line. I don't see the national implications in this game going away in the foreseeable future as both teams rosters are fairly stacked and top recruiting classes are constantly churned out. So, in my worthless opinion, I would say, generally speaking, that Alabama is a rival of LSU. But, maybe Alabama doesn't consider LSU a rival which is perfectly fine.

The only issue is that they fail at math in recounting their history but that ignorance doesn't seem to bother them.

I'll also admit rivalries are somewhat subjective. I was raised to hate UT. Some UA fans think AU is our biggest rival, and I most definitely consider UT #1. Who knows, maybe when I have kids they'll consider LSU the main rival. I just think it takes more than 5 years to call someone a rival.

WE have the best team in the nation this year and Alabama is really not very important.
