Assuming LSU beats Bama, what else do we need to happen to favor LSU going forward?

I’m thinking:
UGA beats Ole Miss
Vandy or UGA beats Tennessee.
Arkansas or A&M beats Texas.

We need a&m and Texas out of the way for an LSU UGA SEC CG.

the bad thing is if LSU wins out and qualifies for SEC Champ game then a loss could knock lsu out which would suck

I am solely focused on LSU and us handling our own business.

But since you asked, I want:

Ole Miss over Georgia
Georgia over Tennessee

This would mean (assuming we win out) that we would be tied going into final week at 1 loss with UT and A&M. This would mean, no matter what, we will make SEC championship with a win over Oklahoma since there can only be two 1 loss SEC teams left in this scenario.

IMO winning the SEC CG is the main goal right now. What happens after that is just house money.

If they can go on and win a CFP game then cool but if they just make the CFP and lose first round I’d still be happy knowing we got that SEC Title

Dude relax you aren’t on the fricking team. We as fans can talk rooting interests that favor our team here. This mindset is so ridiculous

LSUs only interest is winning out.

That’s really all that matters. What happens with other teams won’t really affect LSUs standing.

Guess you can't read the rest of the post. You must be pretty intelligent.

Not as intelligent as a guy thinking he’s got to focus on this weeks game and that looking ahead will distract the team.

Are you sure about that? I am certain that what happens with other teams definitely impacts LSU and that we need some help on top of winning out the regular season.

There is a Scenario where we win out and still get left out the CFP

The way I'm reading Mreds Standings Calculator, LSU would be likely to go to the SECCG by winning out.

The exceptions I can find are if:
Auburn beats Texas A&M (UGA opponent win vs LSU opponent loss)
Auburn beats Alabama (UGA push vs LSU opponent loss
AND
Mizzou beats South Carolina (No UGA change vs LSU opponent loss)

If Texas, UGA, and LSU win out, then those other games could boost UGA enough SOS boost to knock us behind both them and Texas (but still give us a good chance of getting a playoff road game.)

So, yeah, root against Auburn (shouldn't be too hard.)

Just root for LSU, we don’t have a title contending team this year. And honestly the outcomes of the games will be the same regardless of who you root for so there is no need to cheer on an A&M or ole miss.

& if LSU doesn’t win out, then a loss would knock lsu out… so just control what you can control & keep winning

This is clearly the optimal path. Would so love a rematch with A&M in SEC Championship game.

He proceeded to answer what he most wanted to happen. As he said, did you actually read his entire post? Apparently not.

100% wrong

If we win out the regular season we are in the SECCG and win there we are an automatic bid.

If we we don’t win out (including the SeCCG) we are out regardless.

It does suck that making it to the SECCG and losing would keep us out of the playoff but that’s what happens when lose a season opener to a bad team.

This is absolutely wrong. Winning out means we win the SEC Championship game and are an automatic Top 4 seed.

I am not at all sure that if LSU wins out and goes to the SEC Championship game and loses that they are out of the CFP. I think (as long as they aren’t boat raced in the game) they would have a very realistic shot to still get in as a 11 or 12 seed.

I think this requires A&M winning out then UGA losing to either Ole Miss or Tennessee.

With LSU winning out of course. But if A&M and UGA win out I think that’s the SECCG and we stay home
