This is where Mainieri needs to step up and earn his money. The team is playing with too much pressure and too little confidence.

Unfortunately, I think Mainieri has been part of the problem. Some of his comments haven't helped, and I'm sure the players have figured out that he's throwing darts with regards to all the lineup changes.

They just need to take a deep breath and settle down. The pressure only makes it worse.

They throw the ball...we hit it
They hit the ball...we catch it
Simple

Bregs n Ibarra and company need to quit pressing, relax and do the above

Tigers 4 the win

I think breg's slump is killing the rest of the team. Its tough when your best player is batting less than .100 since the start of SEC play.

Kid probably needs glasses. Problem solved.

Apparently they just are not very good. This leauge is the toughest in the country, very small margin of error here guys. If you can't hit you will lose simple. When they struggled to get by Auburn I thought they would struggle the rest of the way. Oh well still be pulling for em.

It's baseball. A long season. Streaks, slumps, recoveries, etc....

Guys, relax. At least it's only baseball

Over the past 30 years LSU baseball is among the top three programs in the entire country. Many people will argue that LSU is more of a baseball school than anything else. All sports are important at LSU.

We just aren't great. We weren't tested much early on and now the SEC is killing us with the same bats we can't figure out how to use. The talent level isn't the best. Hopefully we can improve but it's not looking positive.

There has to be an issue...
My guess: the issue is too much media hype, plus unrealistic fan expectations. Reality: this team is good but not great.

I am not a big baseball fan, but something is missing. Usually LSU has a descent team, but they cant hit shite. We went from Gorilla ball to 199 batting average. Hurry up Aug.

That "niche sport" actually carries it's own weight financially at LSU. Which these days, is more than can be said for basketball.

look, i love LSU baseball. but college baseball on a national level is niche. womens basketball is held in higher regard.

Let me take this opportunity to apologize for the frick basketball comment.
I was pissed about the baseball series.
I respect basketball as a sport, but I don't follow it at all.
I grew up a fan of baseball since I could remember.
I didn't even care for football much until I was older.

I still stand by my baseball first opinion, tho.
I know I'm in the minority here but I don't care.
