I don't think any of those guys was recruited by Gonzo.

Is the conversation about his recruiting or coaching?

Is it just a coincidence that our DB's have dropped a bunch of sure interceptions. Every game this year our db's have dropped what looked like easy interceptions. Is that Billy Gs' fault too?

They dropped tons last year, too. Many passes were off target and many were dropped as well. Rgardles,, clearly this is an issue.

Many of you have short memories. LSU WR's have been dropping way too many passes ever since McCarthy replaced Monken. ( Who left for the NFL) Whatever the problem is here, Gonzales has not been able to correct it. Don't know if the problem is technique or simply lack of concentration when the lights come on.

Maybe Miles needs to place a call to Stillwater in the off-season if things don't significantly improve.

there was a fair bit of bitching about the WRs dropping passes in 05 under Monken. not sure we've ever too much liked the WR coach.

Outside of two easy dropped passes RR has been money this year for the most part. he continues to get better and impress me.

I agree that RR has improved nicely this year (although I think at least some of that's due to more accurate passing), but I'm still not fully confident in him making every catch he should. I'm hoping he becomes the highly dependable go to receiver we all want him to be.

He also had a really bad dropped TD pass against WVU. Seems like I remember some drops against OR, as well.

I agree w/ this.

RR was only a QB his senior season. Very misleading.

Not misleading, but incorrect. RR indeed played QB as a Sr. after playing WR for 2 years. I stand corrected. My point being that maybe we're misjudging the talent of some of our WR recruits?

Some of those so-called drops last week would have been very difficult catches. Great athletes sometimes mangage to get their hands on balls that are off-target. I saw only three real drops. Still, I agree that is too many and needs to cease and desist if this is going to be a real title contender.

If you only saw 3 dropped passes last week, you need to rewatch the game. When a ball goes through both of your hands it is a drop. What i see with our recievers is too many of them try to catch the ball against their body.

As for the off target passes, no QB throws perfect passes even 50% of the time. Did you see the TD pass Luck threw this weekend. The reciever had to go up and catch it with 1 hand. I guess that ball sailed on him, must have thrown off his back foot.

Maybe all of our receivers need Lasik. I've heard it does wonders for LSU receivers.

The dropped passes can be attributed to really 2 players, a not so good pass catching tight end, and a guy who didn't learn to play the WR position until last year.

When you have one or two guys dropping passes (i.e. Lafell in 2007) than it isn't a coaching problem. When you have an entire receiving corp dropping passes on a consistent basis, it's coaching.

Why is it that guys have regressed? Randle could catch everything thrown his way as a freshman, and now struggles to make basic catches at times.

Every WR that has been coached by Gonzales seems to have regressed. Of course a Freshman is our best WR, since he's only gotten "coaching" from Gonzales for a couple of months. There is a difference here.

Route running has been an issue at times since LaFell left. TT also regressed his first year under Gonzales as a SENIOR and it had little to do with QB play when he made numerous drops on perfect passes, couldn't run a route to save his life at times.

It all goes back to coaching. Why is it that LSU running backs rarely fumble? Because they are taught technique and bashed it into their heads during practice. Good coaching.

Billy Gonzales is literally the only coaching weakness on this team right now.

We need to stop all of this billy gonzales bashing...it's hurting the team. It's time to move on from this. Let's support our coaches and all of our players no matter what. Rarara.

he cant do anything about RS10's ego except explain why he is being benched.

RS10's ego says take it to the house.

common sense says, get down and make the catch.
