Not every athlete comes to practice being great at everything. At any level, a position coach's job is to identify those shortcomings and run drills to fix them.
and you don't think they do? do you really think the staff chooses to ignore such an obvious problem? are you fricking stupid?
yes...yes...and yes. saved you the time.

if they catch them all in practice and have this many drops on game day, it is a failure.
#1 if you have practice at a high level and they catch them practice, they will not drop that many in a game.. unless, practice does not have a solid intensity level, then they will catch them in practice and may drop them in the game.

Obviously nothing with all the dropped passes
You cant teach someone how to catch a ball, they are supposed to come in from highschool already knowing how to,
What is BG supposed to do? Show them exactly where there fingers are supposed to be on the football?
So we have had a lot of drops the last few games, why dont you let the season play out before jumping to conclusions?

Of course they're trying to solve the problem, but it isn't working. I don't know exactly why - I'm not there. But if it is a persistent problem, you find someone who can fix it.

It's not just the last few games, it's been going on for at least the last two seasons.

There are ball-catching drills. I don't care if BG or an assistant runs them, the point is to get the guys to catch. See at this LINK where Vicne Wilfork attributes the interceptions the Patriots D gets to practice drills. Catching, like any other skill, can be improved with practice.

The thing I've noticed was that it's more about inconsistency than just straight-up drops. Some games, such as Miss State, NW State, and WVU (Randle in the endzone excluded) the receivers have very few if any drops. Oregon and Kentucky was pretty bad though.

+ 1
BTW, When students come into my college class, they are supposed to know percentages, etc.....
many times, I have to go back to basics,
-they either learned it incorrectly
-they have forgotten the fundamentals.
you gotta do whatever it takes...
"they should have learned it" is true, but if they did not, you gotta teach it / re-teach it.

It's a VERY advanced task only teenagers can learn from what I hear.

It's funny how LSU fans are so myopic. Other teams suffer from dropped passes as well. Watch other teams play.

Players got to make the plays. Coach Gonzo can't go out on the field with them. I think Lee has been a little high on some of his passes but they still have to catch it if it hits their hands. Some of it has to do with trying to run before they catch the ball. It's all fixable.

I like how OBJ is playing well, therefore he can't be used in the discussion

He must have learned how to catch in high school. Everyone else is doomed.

What does coaching have to do with dropped passes?

you are right that some do...
and that amount varies greatly....team to team and
there will always be drops, but
why accept mediocrity ?

it's all perspective. how many drops WV and KY have against us? It's football and we are currently #1. I"m not worried.
