LSU did what it had to do to be where it was, usc
of the 3 teams involved only one of them wasn't their conference champ. usc did what they needed to do. usc just got jacked by a flawed system that allowed a team that by definition wasn't the best team in their conference to compete for a nc.

The BCS screwed up in 03. It should have been USC vs. LSU for the BCSNCG. And LSU would have rocked that shite. LSU's defense was unreal that year.

I'm not saying that wouldn't have happened but my point was the whole LSU/usc thing was based on the bad blood & smack from the whole NC thing. LSU has since won ANOTHER NC, so usc is just a sidenote to the 03 season. If LSU were to play usc, other than for a NC, the passion won't be as great as it would have been if we had played them in 04 or 05-regardless of the outcome. Now it would just be LSU v/s usc, exciting yes but not nearly the frenzied frothing mouthed clash it would have been in 04.

The system that is-BCS-is a flawed system BUT it is THE system that matches up the NC game. A conference championship is NOT a requirment to play in the NC game, soooooo usc did NOT do what it needed to do according to the guidelines that govern the selection of the 2 teams that play for the BCS NC.
Now, do I support that system? NO. If you don't win your conference, you should NOT play in the BCS NC game, especially if teams like LSU/UF/etc have to play in tough conferences AND an additional conference championship game. usc has to tip-toe through the tulips for a pac 10 crown, LSU, & the rest of the SEC, have to fight for their lives EVERY weekend & again on the first Saturday in Decemeber. Not fair but what can you do about it?

Incorrect. You can toss that definition out the window and never bring it up again. That "definition" does not matter because it is not universally applied to every team in college football.

Even with McFadden dinged up, those were some arse wippings
It would be nice to see SC finally play a top level SEC opponent without the benefit of missing a QB plus a Heisman finalist; SC's record against the SEC is kind of like LSU's against the Pac 10: undefeated, but haven't really played the "good" team (or "teams", in the SEC's case).

Even without McFadden's dumb arse kicking himself to the curb (literally) he was still their leading rusher, and that was in a backfield that also featured Felix Jones AND Peyton Hillis (Hillis is the best back of the three IMHO).
LSU is about to play UW, who is coming off their season as the only PAC 10 team in recent memory (hell, maybe even in history, google it) that didn't WIN A SINGLE GAME last season.
At least you're showing some balls by taking a road trip to play a BCS team. Sort of.

You know where we are. Lesticles just don't have the testicles to tackle USC.

This presumes that USC doesn't figure into the "schedule teams" equation. I haven't heard of Pete & Co. making any inquiries to LSU.

I doubt USC is avoiding LSU. For all we know, the schools mightve tried to schedule but couldnt work it out. Who knows, who cares.
But as an avid LSU fan, I still have to admit that USC has handled business when it played AU and Arky. In 2003 LSU and USC both beat AU about the same, but even with McFadden hurt theres no denying USC kicked Arky's arse. And Arky was good in 2006.

None of which, it would seem, has much to do with this year, which I believe the OP was asking about.

Now I know you LSU fans, and you'd love a shot at USC, but I don't think your AD will pull the trigger. The BCS system works better for the SEC as it is, without difficult games against major BCS powers OOC. Plus, even if you blow a game you get a mulligan from the SECCG, like UF did last season.

Look at our schedule this year in conference. That tired argument you use is terrible.

I'm still getting from the content of your posts that you believe the onus for scheduling relies entirely on LSU.

Certainly cant argue with that for the most part. Although in 2006 a one-loss Florida was going to be left out of the BCS in favor of a one-loss USC until USC lost to UCLA. I never understood that, and in that year the SECCG wasnt going to push Florida past USC.
