Jennings should wear 18 some day for the way he has handled things.
What "things"?
You mean like dealing with the pressure of playing QB at an elite football school? Which he signed up for, voluntarily? After playing very poorly last year, where criticism should be expected?

8 pages of bashing a kid that's busting his arse to improve.

Why is this thread still alive?
Posted on 4/13/15 at 9:04 am to sicboy
The rant does this every year. Building up "I told you so" ammunition because thats how they enjoy lsu football; creating new and novel ways to not ever actually enjoy it.

Look, I like Jennings as a person. Works hard and represents the university well. I think most of the Rant would agree.
But he's a bad QB, and that's what really matters at elite football schools like LSU. Yes, it great to hear he's working hard to improve but that, in itself, doesn't mean much. We need to see it on the field, and we sure didn't see it last season.
So it's not "bashing" AJ when we're being properly critical of his performance and our expectations for 2015. He voluntarily came to an elite football school to play QB. That comes with huge expectations and pressure, and opens him up (fairly, I might add) to legitimate criticism.

I didnt have to read this thread to know that isnt what happened in 8 pages.

That would be awesome. I hope he does.

That's all fine and great. I agree he shouldn't be immune to fair critiques. But that isn't what this thread is. At all.

Have you been "properly critical" of the other QB performance as well?

We don't know that. He had good games in 2014 and he had bad games. Much the same was said bout JL in 2008 after his So. season.
Both guys started before their time and they have had 4 months work on their short comings and will have 5 more months to work some more before the season. This rush to judgment is silly if you don't want to call it "bashing".
Elite football school or not, this eating of our own some seem so fond of doing is just a sad display of emotional immaturity. imo

Wow. We've had the Iowa bowl game (with a month of practice as the starter), all 2014 spring plus the spring game, and the entire 2014 season to watch AJ perform. And you still say you don't know that he's a bad QB???
Again, good kid, but a poor SEC QB.

Your kind acts like NO other school in the entire country bitches about their football team and coaching staff. You can't believe this?
Your own naivete about this whole dilemma would leave me to believe that you need to check your own maturity level before calling others out.

Sad as it sounds ,ANY thread about AJ is gonna turn into negative crap... I hope ANY QB plays well enough for LSU to win 9-10 games.... butmost on here think AJ will fail......

My kind?
You mean someone who doesn't agree with your kind.
Lighten up, Francis.
I didn't say anything bout our coaching staff. They are big boys who get paid well.
18-20 yr. olds busting their arse and risking injury in an effort to make the team you cheer for successful is a different story. Their only sin I can see is they sometimes don't/cant live up to the expectations they/we/coaches place on them. I don't think anyone regrets not being successful more than the kids and I don't think anyone puts in more effort to be successful than the players.
If you cant understand how petty and small anyone is who feels the need to continually nit pick/call out/bash one of our own players, you are the one with the emotional problem and not me.

You're kind as in pumper.
So everyone who criticizes AJ is emotionally unbalanced? I think you're diagnosis is a little flaky there doc.
You can spin it anyway you want....AJ...RIGHT NOW...based on last years numbers, is not a good QB.
I don't blame the kid, because he is busting his azz. I blame Miles and the coaching staff for failing to recruit and develop a QB who can at least perform adequately in our offense. In his tenure at LSU, miles has only had a couple of years where the QB has been even average. That's unacceptable.

I said "continually", but nice try at spinning it.

AJ...RIGHT NOW
You don't know what kind of QB Jennings is "RIGHT NOW" or what kind he might be in Sep. Same holds true for Harris. Young QBs have been know to improve and there is no reason to assume that both of ours have not improve as well. Why is it so important to some to pretend they have all this figured out when none of us save the coaches/players, in reality, have a freaking clue what has been going on with these 2 guys in the last 4 mons???

Ok, that's your right...knock yourself out. You feel better now?
