Started going to an occasional game in the 60's, we had 2 season ticks on the east side, but my dad and older brother usually got to go. We had to drive up from Metairie, when we turned from Airline to Highland Rd, we got excited. We all dressed up as if going to church.

The attendance was 68,700, the game was the, my dad would explain what happened on each play, so we stayed interested. I never heard a profanity, saw people with their flasks, but no one drunk and stupid.

I remember the 1st game of the year, usually Texas A&M, the male students wore pajamas, I thought that looked like a lot of fun.

South endzone is all that's left of the 80k seat tiger stadium I grew up watching game in.

Male freshmen had to shave their heads and wore purple and gold beanies. They wore pajamas to the first game of the season. The week prior to the Ole Miss game, there would be panty raids at the women's dorms. LSU would stomp Tulane every year to close out the regular season.

Fans actually watching games and staying for the whole game. I do miss the big block LSU in the endzones and the loose mesh jerseys

I started going when I could be dropped off by my parents and go with a friend in 1999. I remember 2000 and 2001 the stadium was filled with crazy folks. The stadium had no real color scheme, purple, gold, yellow, white, black and those 2 years were wild bc we were hungry, I think tickets were $21? Maybe $28? Anyone could go and it was loud as hell. Not just sustained but when we scored old folks and middle aged and everyone was throwing Shite and standing and yelling and it was really fun to watch. Once 2008 hit it really changed a lot. It changed in 2003-4 but it was really changing in 2008. Fans expected nattys and sec titles and we became entitled and the prices shot up with the tradition fee. You could see the guys who swam up from the bayou and air boated in weren't in the stadium anymore. Still has amazing moments and loud sustained drives and quarters but the intensity is missing because it's a social and rich event now. The insane guys who stood up the whole game and yelled are missing. No one cared if you stood up, people got mad if you sat down. Now it's just different. The place is still amazing and magical when it needs to be but it's against 2-3 teams and it has to line up with us being good and them being good. Now the sidelines are filled with golf clappers and complainers. People who need new bathrooms and beer gardens to go to the game. People who want the old coliseum to look new like a NFL stadium. I enjoyed when it looked old a scary, we don't need all the updates. We just need to go to the games and get loud and rowdy and be ok with terrible bathrooms and cramped seats. It's 7-8 games a year. 28-40 hours total in that stadium in 365 days. Yet people can't do it anymore. It's too hot and there is too much traffic. I loved it back then. I'll never forget Bama 2000 and auburn 2001. The sec title game when LSU sent maybe 12k and we're way louder than the 50k Tennessee fans. It was so rowdy and enthusiastic. The south endzone seems to hold those old timers and older crazies that the stadium once was full of. Anything goes in the south endzone. Times have changed, the student section has changed. I remember 2003 ULM it was pouring and the students didn't budge a inch...... for ULM. Great times. I still love the place but now she just has her moments.

I remember going to games on a "youth ticket" for $3.50 per game or something like that. Been sitting in the same seats since 67 season. EVERYTHING has changed.
